It is changing the game for sure. But the big Universities should be able to thrive in it because they have the money too. But will some big Universities step up? Are they willing to invest in winning? It will be interesting to see how the next few years change the college landscape.
We are in on some serious talent in 2023 so I wonder if we finally have a plan in place going forward and our players/recruits will start reaping those benefits. I think our biggest issue is starting slow and following the “right way” initiative in regards to NiL. But they may have it figured out now and we will start to see the benefits of NIL going forward.
This is true. They pushed it to SCOTUS, then SCOTUS fubared it as well by opening Pandora's Box without regulation. You can blame the ole 'AA and these Universities. They should have figured out a better way to compensate these athletes a long time ago. Instead they kept the status quo and continued to fatten their wallets on the backs of 19 and 20 year olds.
I'm not going to read through all your BS because you didn't continue to follow the conversation. Conversations consist of more than one post. When you take one post and then launch personal attacks on me, you're damn right I'm going to question your intelligence. Try going back and reading my follow up posts and see the point I was making. Otherwise, I have no desire to keep trading barbs.
A statement for those of you who continually do it, a conversation consists of more than one post. Before singling out one post, try reading the series of posts to understand the point being made. Otherwise, shut the hell up. I try to be nice and get along, but damn, if you don't want to afford the same respect, I can be an ass hole too.
For once..just choke it...you know exactly what I meant..he is a good player and important to the team at this point because of lack of depth....but he also still makes a ****load of mistakes, and he still has bad issues with a lot of the fundamentals of playing his position.Relax. Like all things, this is on a pendulum. It will correct itself or those in charge will correct it. It's just new and crazy right now.
And if he's not that good then why do we care?

Look at the bright side. You get to express your anger and disappointment, and I doubt you'll have to deal with an onslaught of posters calling you out as being negative and glass half empty. For once..just choke it...you know exactly what I meant..he is a good player and important to the team at this point because of lack of depth....but he also still makes a ****load of mistakes, and he still has bad issues with a lot of the fundamentals of playing his position.

I've never used a netti pot, and to be honest, I've been terrified by the idea after reading about brain-eating amoebas.

And we were all good for years with things happening the way they were. As long as it didnt disrupt our football, we were completely ok with players not being compensated the way they should have been all along. Many dont feel this way and that's cool, but the wrongs are starting to be corrected and I hope it ultimately lands us in somewhere in between, but what was going on forever was not working. This is true. They pushed it to SCOTUS, then SCOTUS fubared it as well by opening Pandora's Box without regulation.
There needs to be regulation, and as I understand it, though I haven't personally read the ruling, SCOTUS didn't do a very good job of factoring that into their ruling. And we were all good for years with things happening the way they were.
