Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Soooo much disinformation, but gov is like the last I will ever trust. The cruelty is this current admin would not accept a vax from Trump, but now go get waxed. Throw the historical lack of accountability, lack of aptitude, and downright lies by our past and future gov, and here we are.

Agreed…Same with my state and DeSantis

Meanwhile 1,000,000 test kits left to expire locked away in a government stockpile in Florida.
No tests=No cases

Rick Bright raised the alarm about the Trump administration’s response to COVID‑19. Now, he wants to build an alert system for future threats

You seem to be having a really tough time with this.
Antigen tests fail to detect Omicron early on. That means you could have the deadly corvid and get a false sense of security with a negative test. So you could easily kill many grandmas with your newfound hubris. The tests should be used on those that may actually need intervention and further care because a positive case could actually develop into something. If you don't have multiple comorbidities why do you need to test? Why waste tests on people with no symptoms?

This is 100 percent true. I awoke with a fever and head ache about 2 AM the night of the first Tennessee game. I have never ran a fever in warm weather, so I knew what it was. I went the next morning and got tested. It was negative, and I was floored. Despite having a 102 degree fever I was told that my viral load wasn't high enough to test positive yet. So, I waited until day 5 of symptoms to retest, and only then I did test positive. The rapid tests are not very good early on at detecting illness. They also produce false positives.

From the UF article, listen to this insanity:

So, since we have a new strain that is not neutralized by the antibodies produced after the mRNA shots, we need to give people more shots to protect the segment of the population that does not need protecting?
Right. This has nothing to do with health

Interesting. I guess we will never really know what you would have went through without the vaccine, but it does seem as if the vaccine loses effectiveness in the 3 to 6 month range.
We are having a outbreak at work. From what I gather those unvaccinated are staying sick longer. May be a coincidence but I’ll roll my dice with the vaccine

The U.S. COVID-19 Vaccination Program at One Year: How Many Deaths and Hospitalizations Were Averted?

Highlights
  • In the absence of a vaccination program, there would have been approximately 1.1 million additional COVID-19 deaths and more than 10.3 million additional COVID-19 hospitalizations in the U.S. by November 2021.
  • Without the U.S. vaccination program, COVID-19 deaths would have been approximately 3.2 times higher and COVID-19 hospitalizations approximately 4.9 times higher than the actual toll during 2021.
  • If no one had been vaccinated, daily deaths from COVID-19 could have jumped to as high as 21,000 per day — nearly 5.2 times the level of the record peak of more than 4,000 deaths per day recorded in January 2021.
