Y’all ever use vortex scopes? Where I hunt I need to be able to make 300 yard shots. I need an affordable scope that has good magnification. Vortex is what I’ve seen recommended

I only purchase a certain type of firearm accessory that I feel meshes with the overall culture of my armament collection.

Now in the past, I was known to shell out big bucks for some less than reputable products. But in recent years, from pocket knives to long rifles, I’ve tried to build my collection the right way, with less expensive (and maybe a bit less flashy), but high quality equipment.

Some may say I’ve given up on being a serious outdoorsman, but I think in the long run it will prove to be a more sustainable path to achieving my goals.

I agree with everything you said, and I also believe that it will work out as well. Those elite guys that do hit are a dime a dozen, getting large amounts on campus is the best way to find them. Those who dont will still be servicable players. I agree about the farm team stuff as well. Plowmans press conference concerned me, and LA basically confirmed what I already knew, TN doesnt give two ***** about winning anything important. As a fan it may be time to take a step back, if the school doesnt care why should we?
I will care because I have always cared. I will care because of players like Eric Berry, Trey Smith, still care and bleed orange. I will care because there is no place in the world better than Neyland Stadium on a Fall afternoon. I will care because of the joy that following this program has brought me over the years. I will care because Georgia, Florida and Bama will always suck. I will care because John Ward described the game better than anyone else. I will care because there is no place in the world that is better to live than in Tennessee. I will care because I am loyal. I will care because we are everywhere. I will care because Vol Twitter makes the rest of the world hate us. I will care because I am A Volunteer.

The NIL that is in place today will look totally different in 5 years. The big deals everyone is talking about making will dry up because unless you have unlimited capital it is foolish to invest heavily on unproven 18 year old kids. It all sounds good but as soon as the truth about who gets what and for how long then really nobody knows going forward.

How much value does a 5 star bust have after 2 years ? When the money dries up how many jump from school to school trying to find that next deal and how many desperate teams will give them a chance to play in the same league or will they just slowly slide into the land of the unremembered . How much advertising value will a 5 star bust have after 2 years, I can assure you nowhere near as much as his "handlers" think.

This is going to get silly stupid before it gets better. Instead of these kids getting deals with companies to make extra cash now we have alumni pooling funds to buy a team and I don't think that was the original intention of the NIL but maybe I'm wrong. Think of it as a way the rich alumni can play Jerry Jones without having to own a team.

I have several and would highly recommend them. They aren't a Nightforce but a Diamondback and or a Crossfire II are both good scopes.

Well spoken you are.

So... it's a new year and I'm not looking to cause consternation and angst. I thought I was clear, but I guess I wasn't. What I'm saying is, UT is looking to build a good culture and strong, stable programs, and they have a plan for what that entails and the kind of people who are a good fit. It doesn't mean UT doesn't want good players or doesn't want to win. Everybody has their own definition of how many wins and which players are "good enough."

UT is working with Spyre on NILs, but finding players who fit what UT needs and matching deals to that is a complex process. Spyre's leadership is a group of UT alums, but the company is not part of the university-- it's a vendor partner. UT's role is clarification and compliance, not donor commitments. Spyre and other affiliates build the deals, offer opportunities and create sponsorships and endorsements, using outside funding secured by the agencies, not UTAD.

If a top player is interested in coming to UT-- and some are not-- then Spyre can try to work a deal, using the resources available. Other programs are higher on top players' wish lists right now, and other programs can match whatever UT brings to the table. NIL was always going to be a hornet's nest, with the level of compliance and integrity dependent on the university. It was never going to level the playing field or fund lucrative deals for more than a small subset of players. It's a moving target that favors high-profile programs with championship aspirations and deep pocket donors who want to win at all costs. Guidelines vary by school, and things may be completely different next year-- just like UT football. While it all works itself out, UT will keep rebuilding with the players our coaches think are a good fit and are open to what UT offers. Will that translate to more wins and close the gap with our rivals? We'll see.
