Tonight revealed one thing…

You mean the game winning TDs that were wide open? Yeah…clearly the problem there was coaching.

We lost due to really bad officiating and really bad dbs

So, we decide to go long, on back to back plays, with a QB that hasn’t hit the broad side of a barn in two quarters when all you need to win the game is 15 yds?

Get 15 yds, win with a FG, and we take it out of the refs and defensive backs hands. So yea, that’s on the coach…

How long have we been saying that? How many years? For crying out loud. We can’t even beat a middle of the pack B10 team that had their best offensive and defensive players out.

If Bell would have played they likely would have ran us off the field. This was a pathetic game from Heupel. He has to own it. So does the staff and players as well. TN had a great chance to make a true statement to cap off a great year. Instead, they came out and played like crap.

AND we have had up until tonight however MANY MANY here at VN discuss Heupel needs an extention and we pour a bucket of money on him. After tonight, no, just no. He may end up being what we want long term but after tonight, the jury is still out waaaaaaay out on whether or not he's the long term solution as HC at UT IMO. He was out coached by a country mile by Brohm.

This. That was the ballgame there. Just horrible play calling and poor clock management.

Are we really blaming the offense/play calling in a game where we had 666 total yards and scored 45 points? I've been a fan of Vol football for 40 years and can't remember us ever having over 350 yards passing and more than 250 yards rushing in the same game.... and still lose.
I am not talking about the entirety of the game. I am calling into question the last series of regulation.

Get used to it. That's Heupel ball so far. Lot's of Ric Flair woos over the stats in losing efforts. Heupel has to get the corner turned on beating teams like Purdue and Pitt and it seems the idea of beating Bama and UGA is beyond many Vol fans to grasp any longer.

No, they beat Kentucky in a similar game. There is no margin for error when you have a bad defense and play at such a fast pace, but the offense was fine today.

He didn’t kick the field goal because he thought his defense wouldn’t be able to stop them hell they didn’t stop them the whole game so that’s why he went for the touchdown
Then why not go for two on the last TD in regulation ? When they sent a blitz Purdue QB would choke every time.

Are you talking about the end of regulation? Or, in OT?
