Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Both of my kids (two doses of Pfizer; one in November and one in early December) caught omicron. One stayed completely asymptomatic. The other had low grade fever (99-100) for two days and some sniffles. Both are now back to normal. I (thrice jabbed with Pfizer) stayed negative throughout, despite quarantining and caring for them. Pretty damn happy with the vaccine performance. I know several people who didn't get the booster and are getting b*tch-slapped by omicron. Not hospitalized, but miserable for a few days.
We had covid in our house (our son). We did not catch it. We are not vaxxed.
Pretty happy with my immune system performance.

Congrats! You'll be a perfect candidate for an omicron infection since infection from the prior versions don't do much to stop omicron. Enjoy those Theraflu cocktails.

Can anyone make sense of these two posts?

Sounds similar to our kids’ experience without vaccines. So what is it that satisfies you?

My wife just blew through COVID in a couple days with just a fever and fatigue, same as the friend of ours (vaxxed) that caught it.

I tested negative but find it dubious that I don't have it. Dad thinks my minor symptoms may be antibodies firing back up to kill it off- he and I both think I had it before it was popular.

So salty. Thought we were sharing our anecdotes re covid.
Also, looks like your vaxxed kids caught omicron. We haven't.

They variants appear to be naturally (and predictably) weaker yet more transmissible as time goes by, yet we have the vaccinated using the milder symptoms as their justification on the effectiveness of the jab.
For people in their 80s or 90s, it’s a huge relief having milder symptoms. If it’s someone’s parents, it’s a huge justification.

The symptoms are getting milder in spite of the vaccines. That is how this usually works. Over time, the virus gets weaker, yet more transmissible. But you guys are acting like the vax is fighting omicron and making the symptoms milder when that may not be the case at all right now.

May not is the key word, we will find out more in the next few weeks, hope you are right.

The science before March 2020 would have told us the exact thing I'm saying now. Viruses get these viruses usually get weaker yet become more transmissible as time goes on. Now the science after March 2020...

Why do people get flu shots every year?

It may as well have. I was only doing interviews, no experimentation, and had to go through mounds of paperwork explaining how I was making sure I wouldn't inflict harm on my subjects.
I’m sure you weren’t asking to use a hypersonic sound device on felons to interrupt their cardiac rhythms… that’s already been done. Since that time they have swung to the other side of the pendulum in the US. IRBs for .gov have in the past made their own rules like making certain things classified and they still practice experimentation outside the US. Because they are special.

I have no idea why they do that.

But with regards to the flu vs COVID-19, we are talking about variants/mutations of the same COVID virus while the flu usually has flu viruses from different sources each year I would assume. I don't think that is an apples to apples comparison you are trying to make.

The fact that you derive joy from the prospect of someone getting sick is pretty sickening. But you’re a lawyer, so class and morality aren’t your strong suits.

Just a question for those that claim they had the covid omicron variant, how do you know? Is the government testing people for the specific covid variant?
