You don't think hysteria over Covid is not contributing to making kids more timid and fearful than they already are? That they aren't being encouraged to be perpetual victims? Hang around a school sometime. Damn right I'm saying it.Are you for real saying that, or is that you channeling McGill? I only ask because - of all the complaints that have arisen in the last two years of wild diseases and politics and national turmoil, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone concerned that having boys wear masks turns them into sissies!
Do people actually say that?
Hysteria comes from both sides taking things to an extreme. The viewpoint you just expressed is a good example of going to the extreme. I haven't seen any of the sort with kids whose parents are overly cautious. You don't think hysteria over Covid is not contributing to making kids more timid and fearful than they already are? I wish folks would turn off the talking heads they listen to on TV and talk radio and look out their own front door and realize that 90% of the alarmist crap they're hearing about isn't affecting their day-to-day lives. That absolutely goes for both sides.
Talking heads have nothing to do with my views. 37 years in education does. We just need to agree to disagree.Hysteria comes from both sides taking things to an extreme. You equate me requesting someone to move a particular discussion I felt was more appropriate in the political forum as “struggling so much”. Stop being so dramatic about every single post I make, it’s becoming very old already.Having an opinion about Fauci, or vaccines, that is different then yours does not equate political discussion. Why do you struggle with that so much?
I responded to one post you made today. Stop being a victim. And it's the second time in two days you have accused someone of posting something political in nature in here. You were wrong both times. You equate me requesting someone to move a particular discussion I felt was more appropriate in the political forum as “struggling so much”. Then we need to stop making policies off of alarmist crap too. Take Omicron for example. So far it’s said to be more contagious but less severe. Almost no one has died from it but here we go with the exact same alarmist crap, as you put it, that came with the other variants. In East TN I don’t see this happening but some places are shutting businesses down again. That’s absurd.Hysteria comes from both sides taking things to an extreme. We have had one death from the omicron variant. He was old and had underlying conditions. Stay healthy, fit and go outdoors, get the jab and this thing is a virtual non factor, but hey, fear sells. This is the direct equivalent of canceling games due to a bad cold going around. Maddening.
We're definitely to the point where you can't close down. Have to hope a more contagious but less severe variant finally causes COVID to beat itself without losing folks. Then we need to stop making policies off of alarmist crap too. This is such a big deal. From the FDA briefing slides
