Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

One of the Contractors I work with informed me yesterday that he tested positive for Covid (for what it's worth he is vaccinated) and has had minor symptoms. He had a slight fever and it was basically a headcount for the most part.. He told me this morning that just for the heck of it and to see if he could do it he ran 5 miles on Sunday. (He is in the Marine corps) I'm pretty sure it's making its round here and a lot of people don't realize they even have it. I know quite a few people who have cold-like symptoms. My Father-in-law had a slight fever this past weekend and when I told him it was more then likely Covid he answered very matter of factly that he can't get it since he's vaxxed. 🙃

South African Doctor Has Good News About Omicron That Decimates New Hysteria

Dr. Angelique Coetzee, one of the first doctors in South Africa to treat patients with the Omicron variant of COVID-19, told CNN on Monday they have seen a decrease in COVID cases in the region where the Omicron variant was first detected.

Coetzee further explained while they did see a rise in COVID-19 cases with the Omicron variant they did not see a corresponding rise in hospitalizations or deaths.

“What we currently see is our cases, we are over the curve. It is sort of coming down…The epicenter, the number is much lower…In total, if you look at our numbers, it’s going down. Our positivity rate is still high, around about 30 percent, and the reason is that people go and test. There’s a lot of testing done. Incidentally, since the 9th of December, it seems there are more people going for tests than going to get their vaccines,”

“So our ICU cases, if we look at the cases yesterday, we always look back one day, so the admissions of the 18th of December, across 666 facilities in South Africa was 87. And currently, in all our ICU and all of these, 666 facilities, we currently have 534 in ICU,” Coetzee added, noting not all ICU admissions are related to COVID.South African Doctor Has Good News About Omicron That Decimates New Hysteria

Quick burn rate.

I rolled my eyes when Fauci stated that we would never go back to not having to wear masks on planes again. I would much rather step on a plane with no mask for a few hours or so and share germs with a few hundred, than to get on a cruise ship and share germs with 6,000 other people for a week.
Cruise ships truly seem to be petri dishes.

The most glaring hole in the cruise ship vaccination strategy is when they makes these stops at different ports. Is the local population vaccinated?
I was just talking with someone about this, theyre about to leave for a cruise. They have to test negative when they board, but thats the only time. He wasnt made just confused because he was saying the same thing you were. Its an 18 day cruise they got for some stupid low price back when cruise lines werent sure when they were ever going to sail again.

I know someone who went to the doctor the other day. I kid you not, there was a list of about 35 questions regarding symptoms she had, if you answer yes to any of them you have to get a COVID test before they will even see you. That honestly blew my mind.
Funny, I came to post a similar story from a parent at my office today. Her PMD wouldn't see her for fever and cough until she went somewhere else and took a CV test first. We both had a good laugh.

She's currently looking for a new doctor.

At least the fever and cough fit the illness. The hospital system here was marking people as "presumptive" COVID cases for the longest time if they had only one of a laundry list of symptoms, including things like stomach upset.

Boy, I am very lucky I was able to get the doctor I did earlier this year. He ended up not taking anymore patients in October. He doesn't push the jab and doesn't push meds... instead he focuses on lifestyle choices.
