How do we look at receiver next year?

Merrill is going to start in the slot. If he's fully healthy.

Calloway let that one bad drop ruin his season, but he's as good as anyone out there. You saw that against Pitt.

Hyatt needs to catch the ball more consistently. He's his own worst enemy rigrh now.

Holiday might need a position change.

Keyton plays with ZERO fire...

With all that said, I expect Cam Miller to come in a bring some energy to that group!
He and Squirrel White will play a lot as freshman.

Some combination of
Tillman ,Calloway , Hyatt, Merrill , White, and Miller will be the main producers of our air attack next season. Webb is the dark horse- could redshirt? Or, get 400 yards as a tr fr.

I wonder if we wait until after spring to get a transfer WR? See what we have first then look?

We have one known stud and a lot of potential.

Idk I guess you go ahead and take someone whose proven if you can.

One thing we can hope for, LittleVol; And that is Kodi Burns will take the returning receivers, and coach them up past what they have done so far. I might be going out on a limb here, but I am hopeful both Webb and Miller are going to have an instant impact. Hopefully, Tillman returns. And if our line can give Hooker the time? Hell, I hope all our receivers give us good cause to debate how each or them gave us reasons to print up wide receiver U tee shirts again. And if it is designed by some random 12 year old from Hampton, Sneedville, Jacksboro, or Ripley? So much the better.

I suspect Heupel is going to bring in a proven player from the portal at WR. I hope Tillman sticks around because that dude is a beast.

Forget about receiver targets; we don't have the bodies on defense to stop Vanderbilt. The other side of the ball is where we will die next year.

Outside of our DL I actually agree with this.. Losing Alontae and Theo will hurt a lot and were already less than average at LB. Hopefully we can get some impact players through the portal on the backside of the defense.

Maybe but I think the new guys make that a little less likely unless someone leaves. I think Calloway has a very good future. I hope he stays. Odd that he isn't practicing but even odder that he would be at practice if he's leaving.

This year they started out trying to play a 6-8 man rotation. They dropped some hints that they weren't able to get everyone ready and then began to focus on the main 3 guys plus a little from Hyatt and Keyton. Another full year in the system and they should be able to get more guys into the rotation. Keyton is ready IMO to break out. Hyatt needs to get past the dropsies but has the talent to be a game breaker. Calloway can step into that Jones role if he develops.

Tillman sounded like he was returning. If he does then I don't think they go portal unless there's just someone they can't take a pass on.

They're starting to bump up on the 85 even if they drop some guys. The WR room looks pretty full.

Can’t wait to see Squirrels 4.37 speed. If he can catch the ball then he will have a great career under Heupel.

Go VOLS

I’m with you on that...trust the process of coaching the wide receivers. The portal is a necessity ! I don’t see that with the very talented incoming freshman group. The necessity is on defensive side of the ball !
