Ya also picked a horrible time to shop for one...this close to Christmas and in the thick of quite a few hunting seasons.

Yeah, don't have to rush tho, it's not a present. Just getting ideas where to watch, didn't realize so many on-lines had popped up. Some are good but many, after all the digging, then have a different price than the lure or don't even have in stock.
Frustrating bunch.

Best bet is honestly head to a gun show. Just walk around a bit and find someone carrying a shotgun, then ask if they're selling it.

There will also be booths and CASH IS KING those brokers don't like having to pack back up their stock so if they got it on the table and you got cash they'll negotiate.

There’s a lot of affordable shotguns out there that are good quality. A good middle ground, and I’ll probably get crap for this, is the Remington 870. Also depends on what you want to use it for and if you have an action preference. Most pumps are going to be on the more affordable side. You don’t get to ridiculous territory action wise until you start talking over/ understand and some of the high end semi autos.

My dove gun is a mossberg 500. I like my pump guns with longer barrels.

Remington 870 is reliable as they come. My first was a 870 20 gauge, youth size. Still my favorite shotgun. I had an over under 20 gauge that I sold because I still prefer my old, reliable 870 and shot better with it. Went 23 for 25 in trap shooting once with it. Took it dove hunting a few times. Can't go wrong with it.

We’re going to add anywhere from 7-12 more players. Many of them won’t be until may-June. Relax on the portal folks

exactly.

its going to happen just gotta be patient.....Its amazing ppl think they are just sitting up there asleep in the football office and not evaluating any portal guys haha

Some regular season notes –

We were dead last in the conference at giving up sacks (42) which also ranked 125th in the nation.

For our run game, TFL’s were only 25, 2nd best in the conference behind Miss State. Removing sacks, they ran the ball 220 times, we ran it 476. Our run game lost the fewest yards in the conference due to TFL’s. Over the course of 12 games we lost a combined 46 yards.

In our 7 wins our offense averaged 50.1 points per game and our defense gave up an average of 18.1 points per game.

In our 5 losses our offense averaged 23.0 points per game and our defense gave up 40.6 points per game.

Our defense ranked 125th for most plays, Ole Miss ranked 126th. Fewer plays are better.

We played 5 teams that finished in the AP-top 25 while Kentucky played 1, South Carolina and Missouri each played 4, and Vandy played 3.

Our offense averaged 6.50 yards per play which was better than we have done in at least 14 years. Our defense gave up 5.22 yards per play which since 2009 is the best we’ve done other than 2009 (4.86), 2015 (5.21), and 2019 (5.01).

Back on March 3rd after posting my research on each member of the new staff I gave each a numerical grade. I’ve updated those grades for the 2021 season.

On April 21st I posted my projection for the 2021 season and since everything pretty much worked out that way I can’t really complain.

Score Prediction for the Purdue game: UT 50.1 Purdue 18.1
Thanks!
I didn’t realize we were giving up that many sacks. Seemed like we were doing better there. Is it because it really didn’t matter much? If there was a sack with JG the drive seemed to be over.

From what I’ve heard the newer ones aren’t as good of quality….but if you if can find one at least 5 years old it should be good.

This time last year the portal game wasn’t considered a viable thing and Heupel wasn’t even the HC…and now we’re behind? All the dominos haven’t been set up…much less fallen. And signing a high school “game changing ILB” isn’t signing a “proven ILB”. If it were then Aaron Willis would have met the definition.
Where did I say we were behind? And what I said was that I don’t like no news on ILB transfers and not bringing a single one in for a visit yet. It is our biggest weakness and still has not been covered yet. And why would Willis meet the definition? Because of star rating? I don’t get it.

Part of it was bad pass protection caused by thin OL depth/talent and having new bodies in there. Part of it was Hooker's high completion %...usually unless you're running short passes like the Air Raid the deep ball style of offense we run you don't expect to have that high of a completion % UNLESS you got a QB that takes sacks instead of throwing it away.

Here's the thing...it was Beasley's first year really playing not only the position but in Banks' defense. Same for Banks, both got better as they got more experience. Mitchell getting hurt forced some guys ya likely wouldn't see much to play.

Willis was our top recruit last season and is still with us I expect he's about to earn time in the rotation. Mohan also showed flashes as well. So I feel like we're not as thin going into next year as we were coming in this year. Herring & Perry both are also likely ILB guys and both have some much needed speed. But ILB is almost like OL for me, rather have guys develop into it and we're in a great spot to see that with both Banks & Beasley likely returning.
Beasley needs about 10-15 more pounds which I’m not sure he can handle. And I hope the young linebackers grow, but right now we need proven players to plug in to win now. I think all of the ILBs from this year will be better next year, but what does that mean? They were all bad except one. Can only go up.

So it sounds like we lead for the 5 star QB, 5 star Vic Burley, and are right at the top for 5 star Carnell Tate. Caleb Herring is a Vol without question, and he's a top 50 player who will likely move up. Not to mention we're going to land Desean Bishop, a freaking baller though he isn't ranked yet.

That '23 class is fixing to be special. This is what I hoped for with Heup. You knew that he was bringing an elite offense with QB development. QB's and skill players are going to want to play here. You have Garner, the goat defensive recruiter. This is looking like we're on our way.
National Champs 2024!

You know coaches aren’t perfect right? Did you see our linebacker play this year? Lord have mercy. Can’t say one thing. I guess we have perfect coaches.
That didn't come out exactly how I intended. Believe me, I know coaches aren't perfect. What I meant to get across was that names that seem attractive to us on the outside looking in may have red flags, skeletons, whatever that causes them concern. The best thing this staff has done is create a culture of high character kids that seem to genuinely love playing together. Only takes a couple of locker room cancers to tear that down. They also may know of other LBs that may pop up after the bowls. Certainly need upgrades/depth at LB, but it has to be the right fit.

There are a couple of red flags about Diabate though: he just had shoulder surgery that will keep him out through spring and he's a f'n headcase.

Exactly what I was trying to say to. We need help at ILB and I hope they are evaluating the hell out of the portal players to see if they fit. If not, I’m good with that and trust them. But it’s still a glaring weakness and I hope we haven’t settled with what we have is all.

Highly rated ILB recruit…yes. Who’s been here to visit? Lot of unknown to base your likes.
