Purdue WR and rush End not playing

O Linemen are much less likely to be injured, plus I'm sure he'd like to play at least one more game with his brother. Odds are he plays if healthy. GBO!

AGREE. Kind of wonder if Mays will skip out and it will be even.
I'm not expecting him to play. He was still out of practice today due to his injury.

I have no inside knowledge so this is only a "what if I were in his place" kind of thought... but I don't think it is ridiculous to suggest he might come back. The injury hurt his draft stock enough that he may not get drafted. If he came back and could move to OG then he might make himself some draft day money. In my mind, he still has a lot to prove.

Do what? Cooper and Cade were both injured for much of the season. Spraggins I believe was injured near the end of the season. Harris was lost for the season. Calbert was lost before the season started.

OL injuries probably cost UT a game or two minimum.

WR David Bell is a bigger hit for Purdue than Alontae Taylor is for TN.
Taylor was by far UT's best cover corner. Who would have lined up vs Bell if he had chosen to play? These guys pretty much cancel each other. Opponents threw away from Taylor much of this season. Burrell made that easier... but still.

Taylor’s a heck of a player but David Bell is a GREAT WR. 93 catches for almost 1,300 yards and put up big numbers against strongest competition.

UT didn't have anyone else who could cover him. Purdue didn't have anyone else that Taylor wouldn't have shut down.

I agree. Cade stayed hurt and kinda got pushed around this year. If he comes back and moves to G which is what I'm hearing he'd be drafted play.
Wonder if you UT is going to offer Gerald Mincey and put him at Tackle

I'd feel worse about this if Taylor had not opted out.

Jeff Brohm: Purdue to play Music City Bowl vs. Tennessee without two star players

Good. Time to make a statement in this game. Let’s hit 60+ points.

But, but, but some folks here think these guys should risk their draft status to play in a bowl game that means squat. I cannot believe they would be so selfish not to try and when one for Old Purdue! Rah, rah sis boom bah and all that antique jazz.

Yea he has almost twice as many receptions and yards than their #2 WR. Weirdly he wasn’t their #1 in rec TDs but they should have trouble moving the ball without him for sure

So since bowl games don't matter, I'm sure some won't even bother to watch it.
