VolQuest Podcast Notes:
- SEC slotted teams in bowl games based on team records
- VQ guys think we have a lot more speed than Purdue
- Bowl practice begins on Saturday
- They are surprised by lack of portal moves (Assumed we would lose some players)
- Kaleb Webb (in good shape - thinks he commits before signing day), Agu (Lots of upside), M'ba (Would help us immediately: Will he visit Miami?)
- We are in good shape with Justin Williams (Auburn has no OC currently)
- Talked about how special Kennedy Chandler is
- Lowest scoring game and lowest shooting percentage Colorado has had at home since 2017
- Rob Lewis does not like the rotation of the basketball team (Thinks BHH over Uros and Powell over Bailey)
- They think Brian Kelly will need to win right out of the gate or LSU fans will eat him alive
**Let me add AP talking about our OU transfers figuring out that everything that glitters isn't gold.

And that is why you don't see a lot of our current players hitting the portal due to their story. They still talk to players on the team...

There was zero chance Stricklin was going to call Kiffin.

This. No blue blood P5 AD is going to touch Kiffin. While he offers some upside, he has entirely too many risk points around him and is just as likely to burn down your program. He and his agent manufactured any and all interest and speculation in regards to his candidacy for open jobs.

He’s a good fit at a program like Ole Miss who’s Athletic Department isn’t afraid to push some boundaries and apply some gimmicks.

I don't understand the appeal of Texas A&M. They had a mediocre season propped up by an unlikely win against Alabama. They don't have a strong legacy of winning either in their overall program or through Jimbo (who's only had one really relevant, good team that I can recall). Their military-centric culture would likely be a huge turnoff for a lot of these players, and they are still considered "little brother" in their own state. Is it really just the money they're connecting players with through NIL?

Someone help me see what I'm missing here...

Money.

Drinking game- go back 30 pages in the Nolan thread…. Take a shot every time someone says they don’t understand the appeal of Texas A&M.

If you make it to the end of the thread without dying of alcohol poisoning - you’re an alcoholic and your fellow forum members will hold an intervention for you.

And the town is nothing to attract anyone.

My Great Uncle was in the Baatan Death March. I hate to admit that I can't remember all of the specifics, but he was a POW for quite a while and eventually released. I got the love of history from my mom, and she did some audio interviews with him to preserve the stories before he died. I may just have to ask her about them.

I highly recommend the book cited below to add some additional perspectives. My family met this gentleman, (Glenn Frazier) in Mobile Al. while he was still active and very much able to discuss that phase of his life.
I can't describe how humbled, inadequate & thankful I felt just listening to him describe what those soldiers experienced.

Get your money then take your free transfer if it falls apart.

Doesn’t help himself with his funny, edgy twitter game. As much as the fans love Mike Leach, that perceived quality doesn’t endear these types with the guys who do the actual hiring.
