Purdue WR David Bell and DE George Karlaftis are going to the NFL, per ESPN. If they end up skipping the bowl, we will win easily.

Karlaftis is the main feature of their defense, great player. 4.5 sacks this year, and is everywhere and is very disruptive.

Bell is FAR and away their #1 receiver (remember Rondale Moore?). Bell is the type of receiver you must scheme for. The others are not.

This argument is hilarious. We laugh and drag Kirby because he can't win with 5 stars, because he's "Kirby Dumb"; yet, whenever they do win with 5 stars, it's because they have the 5 stars. Which is it?

Not sure it’s fair to compare a sun belt team to an SEC team but I’m all for Napier being a dud

Honestly with the orange tinted glasses off I'm even more annoyed we hired Pruitt. Can he play call well, yeah seems that way. But he inherited an elite defense Mark Stoops had spent years building at FSU. Obviously at Bama he didn't have to build **** or develop anything, it's all done Saban's standards. At Georgia he took over for Todd Grantham and of course it's a stacked Georgia team.

So really can't point to a defense that Pruitt really built them to where they were.

have a feeling that's what some of these sportsbooks are waiting on before they post, or to instantly adjust their number.

the ones that have posted already have to have serious handle on Vols anyway. starting at Purdue -3 was a huge mistake.

It's possible they both play. They've both played tons of snaps for their team, and there may be a pride factor at work here (but Alontae forwent the bowl game for us, so who knows).

The Lady Vols have done well to this point. Falling behind and coming back to win, albeit against average or below average teams still shows something. I still don't think they'll be anything other than a 15-20 type team when it's all said and done. If that's your expectations then Kelly's your gal. I suspect that level of performance is perfectly acceptable for the UT administration which is all that matters.

My point was folks were questioning if Mullen could recruit well enough at Florida. Despite him having shown in the SEC at a far worst spot to recruit that he could pull in top talent.

Napier now has no real proven track record of doing it (not at the level Mullen was doing at Mississippi State) but seems to be considered a great recruiter...I mean being at Clemson & Alabama isn't exactly proof you're an elite recruiter. I could likely recruit top talent at Alabama, just showing up and paying attention to the HS guys while wearing the crimson and white is about all ya gotta do.

what's more frustrating to me is watching the Miami hurricanes have just as inept if not more athletic dept and train wreck coaches for years. now all the sudden they throw all this money at a new AD and getting the coach they want and showing that money does talk. they are going to pay 8 million a year to the coach THEY wanted more than anyone else. don't tell me we couldn't have done that post fulmer. I think it speaks to how terribly run we have been for years.
