Wait and see on the Lady vols. It's coming.

Pruitt’s defenses were one step above sunseri defenses. He built his reputation on the backs of superior talent. He's a fraud.
Ladies are unbeaten, about to be top 10, without one of their best players, with 3 to 4 really good wins, and you're calling their downfall. Regardless if it happens or not, I bet you're lovely around the holidays.

Pruitt was a disaster here...I still can't wrap my head around how big of a failure he was. From culture to coaching to everything. I've never seen anything quite like it. With that said, I don't buy into "Pruitt can't coach", no more than I buy into "Clemson has taken a step back". Clemson went 9-3, a year removed from 6 to 8 years of some of the best QB play that college football has ever seen. That's like Ole Miss firing Cut, a year removed from Eli.

Whenever Pruitt was hired here, he was the best DC in the country, and had/has the resume to prove it. The guy has 3 or 4 rings, and Bama's defenses have been NOWHERE NEAR his days since. Pruitt was the DC of the last, truly elite defense in college football.

You talk about superior talent...so what?? Same thing could be said about Nick Saban. UGA has same talent as Bama, not the same coaches, as we saw. Follow? However, talk of superior talent is the only reason Pruitt was successful...bullsh!t, but ok...superior talent he has at Clemson. Best talent in the country.

This notion that someone now sucks because they failed, is one of the dumbest takes this board has ever seen. Now, let's say Dabo did hire Pruitt, and Pruitt failed again, is this possible? Absolutely. But, I'm not going to at least look into someone that has been WILDLY SUCCESSFUL...EVERYWHERE ELSE...he's been, just because of one or two, possibly three other stops. The coaching business is littered with coaches that have failed, succeeded, failed, succeeded. By your take, Bill Belichick would have never coached again. Pete Carroll or Johnny Majors. Majors was 24-30 at Iowa St, a complete failure. Done, in your book.

If Dabo left, does Clemson become irrelevant?

The decline is on and I think they turn Florida State lightning fast if that happens. Transfer portal would destroy them

Irrelevant? No. They still have a team of 5 stars at nearly every position. It would depend on the new hire as to whether or not he could coach and recruit well enough to sustain the type of success Dabo had. And playing in the ACC certainly helps to get you to 10 wins fairly easily if you have the talent Clemson does.

If the SEC keeps divisions, this is almost certainly how it would go... I assume a 9-game conference schedule with 2 cross-division games. If you rotate two 2 teams each year, then every 4 year athlete will get to play every SEC team once.

Having AL and Georgia in the same division is criminal. They aught to split the 2 newbies. One goes East, the other West.

Not a Diaz fan. He's a dic*head for what he did to Temple. But...the only ones who are looking bad, about the way they are doing things right now, is Miami.

Agree. Still, taking on a poor man's Kiffin, vibe. Crap on 1 program for another, do a worse job and now "tarmac'd".

Less dirty player stigma for Diaz(?) but also less wins. Gonna be interesting to compare opportunities post awkward firings.

I keep hoping that the generally negative eval around here regarding the Napier hire is right. We all want other SEC teams weak while we rebuild the empire. This quote from an ESPN piece gives me hope that the job is too big for him. It's a really Lyle Butch Jones move to start your career by borrowing cred from Saban.

Exactly what I thought. I figure they took Cade and AT being out into account already too.

Agree, especially AT and possibilities on that side.
Our offensive onslaught has absorbed blows and kept firing. (HH a must have)
Our defense just doesn't have that luxury.

We got lucky

Well, I thought that we would finish 15-0 and with the #1 recruiting class. Maybe I was just a year early. 🤠

Didn’t factor in that CJH and crew had to get the pruitt cheating funk out of the school and off all the players. I definitely believe that they accomplished a complete turnaround in team attitude and showed the players abilities with true coaching and development in less than 1 year. 🤔

Now I am willing to be patient and enjoy Tennessee rising from the ashes and destroying all of the teams in our path. Unfortunately for Purdue, they will be the example of the future for all Tennessee opponents. The SEC West will start sweating when they draw Tennessee rather than vice versa. The SEC East has just become our playground. Any of y’all ready to saddle up and ride with these Vols? 🤠

There won’t be any trains, wagons or room for the fair weather fans either. 😈

It’s hard to say either way on most of these hires at this point. Napier may catch fire on the trail and start a decent rebuild there, or flame out due to corniness.

The only major hire that I think will be a challenge for long term success is Brian Kelly but that state is loaded with talent which may overcome his bad fit at least in the short term. Their expectations are very high right now.

We got lucky that we got Heupel...period. Nobody here wanted him.

Once I knew that he was an option, I did. He fits the Volunteer profile. Not flashy appearance wise, but a football genius. Humble enough to hire a good defensive staff and let them do their thing. He will win championships here. He believes AND can back it up.

Thank you very much AD Danny White! 🤠
