He has nailed this every time. No eye test. They just follow the rule book.
I credit him for the concepts making it into the scheme. Burrow was almost 180 from where he was one season earlier with basically the same offensive talent surrounding him. But the sport jumps and overpromotes on a whim and that netted him a NFL job. Can’t blame him for jumping at the chance…can blame him for not being ready for it. It was the Major Applewhite effect on HGH.I think what happened that year had a lot more to do with Burrow and his WRs selling their souls to the Devil than any coach..lol..I really think it was just a perfect storm thing where everybody involved lights switched on at the same time.
Burrow was in a season long zone, and the WRs too for that matter.
Oh, agree completely there (I misunderstood). I said before the hire that where we were as a program we would have to luck into a successful program changing hire, that we were past the point of Tier 1 coaches looking at us as a destination program. I’m hoping we have, year 1 was definitely a move in the right direction.We got lucky that we got Heupel...period. Nobody here wanted him.
