I'm sure the kid is good, but it hurts to read we're not chasing bigger fish. It inevitably leads you to wonder if the staff doesn't feel it can reel in the bigger fish. And if that's the case, why do they feel that way? We should be able to attract talent.

I was thinking of this subject earlier today at work (while not working and researching VN); the Portal is a part of life as we know it now, so what are the types of kids you’ll find and what are you looking for to build your program?:

1. Kids who were highly touted but got lost in the shuffle. Looking for playing opportunity

2. Kid that went to college A further from home, gets playing time, sees productivity but misses home and wants to move back closer to family

3. Coaching change, wants change of environment. May or may not have been productive.

4. Kid is not heavily recruited, goes to smaller school, late bloomer looking to step back up in competition (Brian Urhlacher, Khalil Mack)

Likely more categories, but just a start. This kid could obviously be #4, and would be one reason to support transfer portal.

Lol...I meant for the world in general, it was a long stay in, and then a relatively short climb out of hell for me personally... since then it is just the normal rigors of life.
