Right, I get that, but what connection does a kid in HS who has no ties other than being their nephew have to a guy who hasn’t been around the Mannings since when Eli was at Ole Miss? I’m just saying, this all screams a bit like wishful thinking and not based on reality.

IIRC, Peyton went to see/workout with Cut almost every summer of his pro career. I believe you're understating the well-publicized Manning family's connection/respect/relationship to Cut.

But to be completely fair, out of their other 8 FBS wins, 5 are right at .500...thus if they lost to those teams, then they would have played 8 teams > .500...

I don’t think you grasp the point I’m trying to make. I’m not saying they don’t think highly of him. But if the assumption based on super cryptic VN posts is that Cut is coming here as an analyst that will then sway Arch Manning to UT, I have a hard time seeing that since there’s no connection to Cut from this kid other than the family name.

Bottom line: if David Cutcliffe comes aboard in any capacity, we are automatically on Arch's radar. The Mannings are ALWAYS around Cut...they trained with him during off seasons after they went to NFL, he works their camps and academy...they have been involved with each other in some form for 25 years now. It didn't just end whenever Eli graduated from Ole Miss.
