Right, I get that, but what connection does a kid in HS who has no ties other than being their nephew have to a guy who hasn’t been around the Mannings since when Eli was at Ole Miss? I’m just saying, this all screams a bit like wishful thinking and not based on reality.

I am nice. I don't attack him or call him names. The only thing I've done is ask him not to trash UT so much, and even that I did nicely.

Manning family thinks highly of cut and his abilities. Do u think manning family hasn't kept in contact with cut.. cut mentored both of manning super bowl winners. Of course, cut would have zero influence right?!!

I’ve always resented those who hinted and hid. I got excited. It’s that good! I will say that a week ago I would have claimed it as not as big a deal. More innuendo…feel free to hate me.

I don’t think you grasp the point I’m trying to make. I’m not saying they don’t think highly of him. But if the assumption based on super cryptic VN posts is that Cut is coming here as an analyst that will then sway Arch Manning to UT, I have a hard time seeing that since there’s no connection to Cut from this kid other than the family name.

I’m betting that they still talk to Cut pretty frequently. When they were still playing they would go to Duke during the off-season and workout with Cut.

What expert had us winning 3-4 games?

Outside of a few super negas on here, I never saw that prediction. Most intelligent folks knew we still had a very good offensive coach, coming off a 3-SEC-win team, a favorable schedule, and despite big losses - still a good bit of talent (top 20 composite team talent).

Vegas had us at 6-6.5 wins and they put their money where their mouth is. SP+ had us at 6.9 wins. 247's national writer had us at 6-6. The 4 local writers had us at 6-6 to 7-5.

I don't get this notion we were expected to be trash going into the season. This was essentially a 6-6 team last year. Nobody with a sane mind predicted us to take such a big drop off from (lol) cornbread.

So there's zero connection to arch manning, when the entire family believes in cut?

I'm sure arch will ignore his uncles when they say Cut made them who they were...

Right, but that’s Eli and Peyton. I’m curious about Arch and his immediate family. I get the love from the whole family, but what ties does this kid have with Cut other than respect? We know with recruiting it’s all about relationships, so what tells us these two are right enough that a Cut move to TN would suddenly sway Arch’s attention?

1) he’s his own kid. I work around high schoolers enough to know they don’t always care about what their family thinks
2) my point is: what relationship do these two have together that leads us to believe Cut moving to TN will all of a sudden sway him to consider us? We know recruiting is all about building those relationships; so what tells us there’s one there other than family respect?

You dont think Arch could've gotten to know Cut from the annual Manning Passing Academy and other functions?
