Also won more at ole miss than any coach in recent history prior to kiffin. Took lsu having a national championship year under saban to block ole miss from playing in Atlanta. Cutcliffe was so special for us in the 90s and again in 06-07 and hopefully will come back to Knoxville to be involved with UT in whatever way he wantsHe made it 14 seasons in one of the worst Power 5 jobs there is. That deserves some respect.
Cutcliffe, Duke Agree on Separation - Duke University
Trooper Taylor, Duke's Associate Head Coach and a member of the staff since 2019, will serve as the interim head coach
Might work but my feeling is that Cutt wouldn’t have retired unless he was really ready to walk away from the game. But who knows? Never hurts to askIf Tennessee is remotely serious about the Arch Manning sweepstakes or pulling in high-end quarterback talent, they to offer him top dollar to be QB coach or an offensive analyst of some sort.
The Manning family loves Cutcliffe, and all of those programs have built-in advantages that Tennessee does not. There's no guarantee that hiring Cutcliffe gets Arch to Knoxville, but it surely puts Tennessee in the mix to a far greater extent than they are presently (which is, to say, not at all) not to mention the years of experience he'd add to the fray in general.
I heard Butch has opened a remote campus for Nick over at Arky State since he has done so well there. Off topic, has Arky State had to fire a coach in the last 20 years?I predict Mullen’s next stop will be the Saban School of Coach Rehabilitation. Nick just hasn’t had a good car wash since Butch left![]()
Arch ain't coming here. Might as well swallow that. And we will be okay. The Manning family loves Cutcliffe, and all of those programs have built-in advantages that Tennessee does not. ... and even the pedigree is indirect. He isn't the son of a former pro athlete. Cooper was recruited to Ole Miss as a WR by Billy Brewer, because Brewer assumed that would lockdown Peyton for the Rebels. Cooper was forced to give up football early into his career due to a congenital issue concerning the narrowing of his spine... so that gave other teams a chance to recruit Peyton. I'm sure Arch Manning will have a nice college career, but I've read articles touting him as being "the best prospect of all the Mannings" which are pure hype. All this talk about Arch Manning. Beyond his pedigree, what do Vols fans know? Really? Is he a pro style QB, dual threat, is he a fit for the Heupel offense? What do fans know beyond his name and membership in Vol-god Peyton's family?
