Not gonna revel in Florida’s misery. They still beat us convincingly and may upgrade on top of it.
Hard to imagine. He literally walked in after a 4-7 season and led what was supposed to be a god awful OL, QB-less team to 10 wins...then 11 wins...then East champs. UF fans are greedy and stupid. Coaches seeing Florida firing guys left and right. Could definitely see them downgrading. They're due for a Miami/FSU level downfall. You can't just keep cycling coaches and not expect it. We know that as well as anyone.

Ive got a feeling that UF is gonna make it hard on anyone to be successful. They want Spurrier/Meyer type results and they want them fast.

It feels like they have a lot in common with Texas. Boosters & admin being too aggressive and needy, an insatiable fan base, and conference realignment could send UF down Texas' path. . . I have my hopes, 😆
They are also the flagships for two growing states, that have increased their selectivity and standing as academic institutions as a result of that population growth. Neither wants to be regarded as a “Football School” like Bama or LSU that wants to win at all costs, where everything is aligned toward that goal from the Board of Regents to the university president, down through the faculty, athletic department, and support staff. Consequently, historically successful programs can’t keep up with the ones that want to do the necessary dirty work. Call it the “Michigan Syndrome.” UCLA works as well for that analogy.

Only need 53 more points to become the highest scoring team in program history.
Or 63?

Funny I was actually looking at this earlier. Didn't know 93 team was THAT prolific. Garner was an absolute beast. They totaled 483 and we're sitting at 421. We could reach it in the same 12 game span as them. And if not, there's certainly no shame coming in 2nd to that beastly team.

What's amazing is not many teams scored like that back then. On top of averaging 40.3 ppg, we only allowed 14.6 ppg too. Probably our largest scoring margin ever. Man, young'ens really missed some amazing years and it's hard to blame them for not "getting it".

smh..............

With all the big time jobs out there, the trickle down effect is going to be very interesting.
Really hope that it doesn't trickle down to Knoxville.
