What are your top 5 names?
Plus, we all know he would be a better coach without moobs. That's VN fact.C’mon Nick, we’re playing the long game here. Need this coach to be at Tennessee for a long time.
You get CJH in shape, you can name your price in the whole state. Just think about it, especially if you want back in the state…
I bet Greg Schiano could be had....Not necessarily in order, but I can give 4 names:
1 - Same ol’ regurgitated Bob Stoops. He’s our John Gruden. He’s be sought after since Spurrier left 20 years ago.
2 - Makes me wanna puke to even type this, but Lane Kiffin. I hated him with the passion of 7 hells the one year he was at UT, but we’d be guaranteed good offense, that’s for sure.
3 - People seem to like Billy Napier. I’m not sold but I can see that he’s got a great coaching lineage and has done a helluva job in his current job.
4 - James Franklin. Knows the SEC, and the biggest thing, he’s a helluva recruiter.
I’ll admit, I NEVER saw this coming.
If Hendon Hooker declares for the draft... The silver lining is that makes Tennessee the premier destination for a transfer QB next year. Heupel should be able to get his phone calls answered by anyone.. Be it Rattler or whoever he wants.
You've got a freshman, a guy who got benched this year, and then a coach who just took a guy out of the portal who was definitely filling out Academy Sports applications a year ago and gave him a chance to make an NFL roster.
Just a thought I had last night.
And in all honesty...it couldn't be happening to a better program than UF...happy for yall.I’m still here to chat…. It wasn’t hard to pump him up when we was starting 29-6, winning 10 & 11 games, or winning major bowl games, or wining the East.
This collapse has been unreal.
So to recap, we woke up on October 2nd with the following; FL was ranked 10th in the country, they were two weeks removed from going toe-to-toe with #1 Bama, they were one week removed from a blowout of a clearly improved TN team. National writers were talking about what Mullen was building, recruits were taking notice. Later that night FL lost to Kentucky. And the total collapse had begun. 7 weeks later, only 7 weeks, FL has gone from that scenario to probably firing their coach. The only two wins since have been Vandy and Samford.
We’ve had ****** seasons, but we’ve pretty much known we were ****** from the start. I’ve never seen one where we appeared to be a national contender as late as October, but then literally flopped to the second worst team in the SEC.
I’d say there’s about a 40% chance Mullen can save his job if he beats FSU. But that ain’t happening, so in all likelihood, FL will have a coaching search soon.
I’ll admit, I NEVER saw this coming.
Honestly, we’ve hit on two coaches in my lifetime; Spurrier and Meyer. It’s be crap otherwise, aside from some occasional flashes. Muschamp went 11-2 once, Mac won the East twice, Mullen’s first 2.75 seasons were elite and he won the East. But none of them could sustain it.
I'm curious, do you think UF would hire Kiffin? As an outsider it just seems like the UF Administration may be seeing itself as an academic institution above all else, and after the unpleasantness of the late Urban Meyer years, may want to stay away from character risks like Kiffin who will embarrass the school. Not necessarily in order, but I can give 4 names:

Didn’t REQUEST one. Simply whimsically reminisced back to when we received hourly updates on your program’s ascension to Bama/UGA status. Served as the same effect of saying your screenname 3 times.

That's exactly it for UF. You guys had two elite coaches but those are hard to find. UF recruits itself. You just need a guy who can sustain things and keep the program on solid ground.
From that list you pick out Lane as the character issue guy? Take a closer look at #4. He makes Lane seem like a choir boy, and that's no easy feat.I'm curious, do you think UF would hire Kiffin? Good advice! . .Let it ride
