The Atlanta Braves

You can’t look at it that way. You have to look at it like this: Will what Freddie gives over the next 6 years be worth 200m?
Of course . . . I was just pointing out that the 6th year isn't some small thing. This is Freddie's last contract, so for him it's everything.

Like Regulator said front load the deal while you have good cash flow coming in and you have Acuna and Allbies on team friendly deals and Riley on the cheap. Coming off a WS title the team should make big bucks as long as the championship window stays open

lol it’s really not tho, they’re printing money. Funny money.
I meant it's a big deal for the player who is on his last contract. Checkerboard kind of minimized "one season". It's a major thing when it's your last big payday and you're not even 40 yet.

yeah big deal for Freddie but that 30 million won’t hurt ownership of management at all. Pay the man his money.

I’m thinking Braves are offering 6th year as a club option and FF wants it guaranteed. If he’s being as productive as I believe he will be, especially with DH in place, it would be a no brainer to me.

He’s a key cog in a team that has a wide open window for the next 4-5 years. There’s nobody currently in the organization that could give you what he gives you, not any one free agent either, and we’re definitely taking a step backwards if he isn’t resigned. Get it done.

Give him 6 with a 7 year mutual option for AAV of $30M. That’s $210M and divide or defer anyway that makes sense. Just git r done.
