They’re allowing 6.6 ppg

In 2020 they allowed 20 ppg

The defense is VERY different this year. Agree they haven’t seen an O like ours. We also haven’t seen a D like theirs.

Bingo. Like it or not, that is a historically great defense.

What sucks is I don't see a historically great offense in the country. Someone will need some good luck to pull it off.

"Why not us?" Sure...but the odds are so much against us. But if...IF we get that ~6% to shine through...it would be the biggest win since '98. How cool is that possibility?

I just don't see us sustaining drives and they're going to limit our explosive plays.

2020 was skewed by Alabama and Florida putting up 41 and 44. nobody else scored more than 16 except Miss State at 24

Cincy had 21 too. And UF/Bama destroyed their D...so "skew" is just a nice way of saying getting that azz beat.

Let's put it this way - 70% of their opponents scored 14+ pts. This year it is 0%.

yeah but Cincy was a bowl game and there were no cupcakes on the schedule last year either to help pad anything. they are definitely better than last year but haven't faced any teams with an up tempo. Having a 2 deep defense is great but we will line up so fast they won't be able to sub
