Any of you versed in automotive stereo issues?

Got a 2006 Silverado with a factory head unit in it, the 2 speakers in the doors don't work. Thought they might just be blown, got 2 new speakers...they don't work either, on either side. Thinking it's the wiring harness at this point but also not sure if maybe the unit may just not be able to push the new speakers?

I finally got one of the door speakers to sorta work after cleaning the plugs. But still sounds terrible.

I’m guessing you are going to see this in early season games of little importance. The pandemic showed ESPN that it can be done, and it saves money when the announcers are at home.

I assume your Bob reference is about Kesling? He and Bert were in the arena. They still do the radio from courtside.
Okay thanks I wondered... my bad when I read initial post I thought they were talking about Vols. TBH, Kesling was kinda late on some calls and I really did start to think he wasn't in TBA!

Been a bit worried about Jaylen, but then heard today that he didn't get to play any football last year cause of COVID. So he's probably just now getting back his conditioning and feeling comfortable with the offense.

Still Evans and Small being healthy would be a huge help Saturday. Hopefully Whitehead and even Pierce are ready to go.

Got snake bit this year in the back field with injuries it seems.

I checked it out. Any of the "winnings" can be withdrawn.

Yep should be able to withdraw anything you win. I haven’t tried yet as I wanted to build my bankroll to where I could increase my standard unit sizes and be comfortable with the back and forth good/day bad day swings. I’m to that point now so I’ll probably start cashing out a little here and there.

The worry with Jaylen is pass protection. Huge drop off in pass pro when Evans is out. Evans is the best at it. Small is a slight downgrade in the dept but serviceable. Jaylen is yikes at it.

Not at all. Bama is not quiet and Ole Miss is not anywhere close to the loudest

I went down to Tuscaloosa about 15 years ago for a UT game and it isn’t “quite” but I remember it not being as loud as I expected. It may have changed since then but it was an older crowd and a lot of people had headphones on and were almost studying the game, taking it overly serious and was almost as if it were life and death in the balance on every play. It was weird.

I've been extremely pleased with Banks all year. There is no other way to describe last Saturday's defensive performance than pathetic. Surely I don't need to go drag out statistics. The question is where do we place blame? You, McGill and others seem to think it was mostly on the players. While I do believe the players have some of the blame, I think Banks had a poor showing. Does that mean I want him fired (that's usually the response from some when you are slightly critical of a coach)? Hell no.

All I know is when we set back and played zone and rushed 3-4, we consistently gave up huge chunk plays. Time and time again allowed big play after big play. When we rushed 5 or more we time and time again (I realize that was very few), good things happened most of the time.
If we had lost that game, there would be a lot more saying what you're saying. For whatever reason, that "W" or "L" can erase a lot of what actually happened from people's minds imo. Just go back through the game thread...people were going waay further than you are...then we win and it's like none of it happened for some. Like you, I hardly want to drag Banks at all...but simply speaking on truths witnessed is far from that.

I think these, along with our abysmal 3rd down are legitimate concerns. Who knows - maybe it's the players - but when a defense can wreck lives on 1st and 2nd down and yet are nationally terrible at 3rd down - a highly playcall-dependent down...I think that shows the players are doing fine (not great, but good)...but it seems we aren't being put in position to succeed often enough on critical downs.

I'm not overly well versed in this but....
Is the head unit the BOSE system and what brand are the speakers?
The Bose head systems have to be matched to 4 ohm speakers I think.
Most non Bose speakers are not 4 ohm so if you try to pair them to a Bose head unit, you could get the result you are seeing.

That's the limit of my speculation.
