It's a screwed up mess. I wish they would remove that stipulation because players that are leaving need time to find a new home and at the same time teams need an opportunity to find replacements. My read on the rules (but idk 100%), is it says if they "depart" (via portal) after end of 1st term or Dec 15 ("the date"), whichever is first. I assume "depart" means "leave the school". So you can put your name in portal, still be an active student thru the Dec term date.

You can put your name in portal before "the date" and not depart until after "the date". In this case, provided Morven, Bailey remain active students through the Dec term, then they could be counted as part of the 7 portal replacements.

Mauer, OTH, not sure. I think he may have bugged out all together.

Mauer is still enrolled I think….. played on the intramural flag football team.

You may be right, seems awfully dramatic. I get Nebraska giving Frost a second bite at the apple, but it just doesn't look good.

If that is the case, then we could count him toward the 7. I think the key, is you have to stay in the school through "the date" (end of dec term or 15th, whichever is first).

I think the objective of the "date" was they wanted the kids to stay in school. You can go in the portal, but you gotta stay in school thru the term.

I would guess this is correct because they could technically return to their original school, so you can’t count that as a transfer if they return.

These guys now are just using it to talk to other schools and probably won’t announce until the end of the semester because of school work and because other roster numbers become clearer.
