I know what they say publicly, but the conference and bowls know who travels and who spends money.

All I was responding to was your comment that the Music City would get say before the Liberty. The conference is really the one that puts it all together (although they claim the bowls have input). No big deal, but I was just saying that I don't believe what the Music City wants really matters a whole lot.

Anyone ever watched Heart of Darkness? Really fascinating look into the production and madness while filming Apocalypse Now. Wild shiz...

And for those of you that previously turned me onto climbing docs (Free Solo, Dawn Wall, etc), there's a newer one about an Alpinist (rock climbing, but also ice) called The Alpinist. It lacks the "great challenge" aspect like those others, but it was great as well...and with a twist.

Of course they do. We're great for that community. Twice now we have paid for all the seats, the expensive ones too, we buy up all the merch and the food/booze. For the community, we come down and stay for a week at the nicer properties, spend money all over town. Organizers love bowl-eligible Tennessee.
Ran outta hotdogs and whisky the butch jones led season. Idk what Iowa is about eating all the weiners but I know who finished the whiskey

Saw this on another board and thought it was interesting.

“The whole idea here is that gaining 7.0 yards per play against Vanderbilt is very different than 7.0 yards per play against Georgia.

If you have 7.0 YPP vs Vandy and they give up 6.5 YPP on average to every other Power 5 team, you gained 108% of Vandy's average.

If you have 7.0 YPP vs UGA and they give up 4.5 YPP on average to every other Power 5 team, you gained 156% of UGA's average.

So on offense, the higher the average, the better you've done compared to your opponents average throughout the year. On defense, the lower the average, the better you've done compared to your opponents average throughout the year.

It helps break down the "well yea but who have they done it against!" argument a little bit - because your stats aren't just by themselves, they are compared to how everyone else has played that team.”

GoVols baby!

Big weekend for the Vols. Homecoming on the Hill and SEC Nation in town. Now that we're upswinging, Finebaum is willing to claim us again. UT is beefing up security to make sure he doesn't get a golf ball to the head.

Mix in Jordan Rodgers, Gary Danielson and Marty Smith, and it'll be quite the day. I'm sorry I won't be there... but can't wait to see the signs. I trust they will be creative.
Marty Smith can get a golfball to the head

It's interesting on defense, we are in the top half in rushing and passing yards per play but 12th in scoring.

Tbf the first 2 are efficiency and ppg is more volume (more possessions to defend). Though I'd bet our pts/possession isn't quite as good either...just due to 3rd down.

The cool thing is our YPP margin is so good - the more plays that get ran/the higher the tempo from both teams - the bigger our advantage grows. Though probably not against UGA ofc

I want to say 24 points, but I honestly think 31 points is the number. If we score 31, we win. Anything less and I’m not as positive. I think if we get out to a lead, or we can consistently move the ball with tempo…they will be caught off guard.

We need a 10 point lead going into the 4th to really put the pressure on them and make them rely on the pass. No matter what though, I’m playing man coverage and making Bennett beat us with his arm. My game plan is hold them to 100 yards or less rushing and let the chips fall where they may.

That was the first time we had a win by just 1 score. On the other hand, UK has 6 wins and 4 of those were 1 score games...(Chattanooga, Mizzou, USCjr, UF) and 1 of the other 2 wins was lowly La-Monroe.

They don't seem to realize just how close they are to being a 2-3 win team. Reminds me of looking at 2016 Northwestern's resume or 2012 ND...just a boatload of luck to win most of their games.
