Mr Bailey? really? You wanna go that route?

This kid was never given a chance. In his 7 games he played in and only started 3 threw for over 573 yards. Put this kid behind the 1st team OL and lets see what he does but it never happened. He played mop up. This kid could have left early but chose to stay and was never given a chance and anyone who talks about his arm strength is nuts. The kid showed in in the O&W game and Ainge went on and on about him but then trashed him out this week. Done with sports animal and Ainge is a liar plain and simple.Loved him as a QB at UT but done with the show.
Ainge literally said the other day that Bailey could still be an all American one day. He just doesn't fit in this offense and isn't ready.

And he did all of that in the O&W game against NOBODY.

Hes too slow. He runs too slow. He operates the offense too slow. His mechanics when throwing are too slow.

Ainge is more so responding to the people like you who are HB sycophants blabbering on and on and on about a third string QB all year just because he was a 5 star, completed a bunch of checkdowns last year and lit up a bunch of walk on DB's in the spring game.

I guess what I don't get is him transferring now instead of at the end of the season. There is truly no reason. If he sticks it out, maybe he actually gets to play due to injury or whatever. It's not like he was preserving his redshirt or something, he's only played in one game.
I don't think you really know if there is a reason or not. Im unfamiliar with all the ins and outs of the portal, but I do know this.....other teams can't contact you easily until you enter and there is going to be MANY enter at the end of the season. All this to say there may be a numbers advantage for HB to enter now. I not a fan of not completing a job either, but I dont know if you can entirely blame the young man given the possible situation.

You didn't like the kid, got it. You wanna tear others down that did, got it. Wasn't a whine just tired of the media tearing the kid down. What would you do if you had his talent and wanted to play pro ball? Stay at a school you'd never get playing time at or find a school where he fits? There's no whine just tired of the knoxville media ripping the kid.......

Be a good teammate and portal after the last regular season game. I was team Bailey for 18 months, but now he's gone and ditched us half way through SEC play. He should get some critisism.

Why are you in love with him?

You can fight it all you want, but the facts are real. Harrison Bailey was passed up by two coaching staffs for a reason. I have heard from several that his arm strength isn't there for big time power 5 football. Did you not see him towards the end of The Tennessee Tech game? He was in the middle of a series and looked completely gassed and lost, the offense is way too fast for him. He is not fit to run this offense and his decision making is very questionable. Bailey could be good at a lower end D1 school or a superstar in D2. The reality is that a decent number of 4 and 5 stars in high school don't pan out all the time. I wish Bailey the best, but he should've never quit on his team during the middle of the year.
I was actually told by someone in the AD that it wasn't so much his physical ability as it was his ability to learn the playbook. It was presented like he is basically incapable of "getting it," and it shouldn't be that hard. I believe the quote was, "the light is just not going on with this kid."
For the record, this was told to me about a month ago.

Really,? That's had to believe.
Hype only runs around 4/5 plays. It's not like you can run an expansive play book at break neck speed.

Maybe the OP needs to start being a Vol fan and stop being a fan of a particular player?

HB didn't need to leave and especially when he did. He deserves some criticism for that.
The Bailey Bros are all on suicide watch now. The greatest legendary freshman player that couldn’t beat out the worst QB in Tennessee history. He couldn’t even beat out a guy that can only throw passes 20 yards to deep and 20 feet over WR’s heads. Heupel has tailored offenses around pocket QB’s….Drew Lock, Sam Bradford, Landry Jones….if Bailey had the goods he’d be the starter. Yet he simply can’t cut it. Best of luck….leaving in mid season on your so called beloved mates is not classy. It’s selfish.

I'm so done with them it's not funny. Every show has torn down HB for hitting the TP. Ainge is the biggest disappointment of all because he sang praises after the spring game and then tears the kid down. Talks about arm strength, calls him dumb and can't run this offense. Ainge isn't the expert he thinks he is and Eric Cain couldn't evaluate a QB if he even tried. Ainge himself said HB had the best spring and was high on him but he does a 180 and basically calls him trash? Funny how his arm strength was fine in spring and now he doesn't have any? I love hooker as our starting QB, love him but would take HB over Milton any day even if he can't run.

While Ainge was a great QB at UT, how dare him say a sophomore isn't fit to run an offense when he played as a freshman and made freshman mistakes but HB never knocked himself out by running into a goal post vs LSU or lost a SEC Championship game with a stupid INT,. I'm just sick of how WNML is attacking this kid. SICK. Flame away and I'll listen to TB from now on. Done with the animal and Ainge.
I quit listening to most of their shows a long time ago. I can still stomach Ivens and West on most days but after that, my station goes to fan run.
The sports animal guys take themselves way too serious and that’s why I like fox sports knox, because they make me laugh, especially Russ and Bear on the drive.
GBO!!

Both EA and CJH understand more about what a good qb is than anyone on VN. Simply because you fell in love with an 18 year old boy doesnt make him a great qb.

And HB blocking the entire EA staff on Twitter speaks more about his maturity and abilty to lead other young men than his lack of production on the field, practice and playing.

I'm willing to wager he never becomes anything close to what you think he will become. The kid quit in the middle of the year dude. I guess you think it's okay to quit. Quitting has never been acceptable. When **** gets tough, you gotta get better. Period.
This has nothing to do with quitting and it’s not about getting better with Bailey. CJH’s wants/needs mobility as well as accuracy. Bailey was never going to play and it’s in his best interest to enter the portal now so he can get a head start on his new destination.

No need to beat him up. The idea that he wastes his talent sitting the bench at UT the rest of his career is ridiculous and absurd.

He was given a chance every single day in practice...Everyday....He didn't cut the mustard..."See what I did there?" Hehe....He played GREAT in the O@W game against the 3rd team defense but seriously he just wasn't fit to play in CJH's offense....Period...Don't act like he was never given a chance because he had all the chances in the world to show what he's got and he failed.

My guess is some runner or relative have already connected him to another school and he's probably verbally agreed. If he gets a match for his style and abilities, he should go for it.
The bigger button is what will UT push in the qb transfer portal?

After listening tonAing’s show today, I was very disappointed in his discussion about Bailey. he belittled him at every opportunity and, as you mentioned, that he was not very smart, could not read defenses, could not learn run etc. He usually doesn’t insult players on the air and I wondered if he is having some problems. I have been a big fan of Eric, but was disappointed with what I heard from him today.

He quit. Nobody has any guts or try anymore. "Oh damn I'm 3rd string. I'll just enter the transfer portal instead of working my ass off and beating the other 2 out."
Meh, I don’t really feel one way or the other. I guess I’m kinda numb to it because I’ve been watching kids quit on this football program for a few years now.
I wish him luck but I’m not losing any sleep over it and as far as the timing, does it really matter if it’s before, during or after the season?
GBO!!

The timing of his transfer announcement is what’s got me stumped.

What would I do - Wait until the end of the season and then enter the portal. Otherwise, I would potentially be dumping on my teammates…

@VolunteerNut who hurt you? I can't imagine being so upset about criticism of a former Vol QB. IMO if you quit mid-season, expect a little heat.
He’s one who just can’t believe the facts, and can’t let go of the dream that HB was gonna be PM2.0.
Fact is he hasn’t played his way past 3rd string for whatever reason and he gone
