Some Friday night entertainment from the Tiger Droppings LSU board.
Hello Tiger Faithful.
I'll start by saying that I am currently one of 4 advisors hired by Scott Woodward. I provided my name to the site admin so hopefully that is enough to suffice.
To start, there have been two conference calls hosted by Scott, with 8 or 9 people. Myself and the other three guys, and a handful of lawyers and other donors.
The idea is to make this a weekly deal, and be more involved with staff. Basically to get feedback on his own choices as well as help prevent him from crossing lines created by being mid season. It's a living.
Regardless. I love this board. I've read it for quite some time. I love speculation. Hell, we speculate too. We don't know who Scott will hire. We do however know what he's up to and the general outlook.
That's what I'm here to discuss with you all. I'll provide cliffs here below.
- First, you can count Jimbo all but out. Woodward is vocal about being unimpressed with him. Saying he should have "grabbed 2020 by the balls" but couldn't pull the trigger. Especially while LSU was down.
- Scott has spoken with several coaches agents. But interestingly, he has been able to speak directly to Lincoln Riley. They have talked 3 times. Nothing concrete. Simply personality gauging and overall character analysis. He really likes Riley and Vice Versa.
- Lane Kiffin has had his agent call Scott to put his name into the hat. Nothing more there.
- Scott has reached out to Napier. It gets interesting here. According to Scott, Bama has their name in for Napier. We don't know specifics and we don't know for what , but Scott seems to think Bama wants a head coach in waiting.
- Scott wants Joe Burrow more active with the program.
- Orgeron has received multiple interview requests. Scott has prevented this excellently to hold recruiting together, even going as far as to consider keeping him on staff in some form.
I apologize if some of this info was already known. You actually have decently accurate insiders here it seems.
Scott is nervous. We all are. He has told us this hire will define his legacy as an AD. No stone will go unturned.
But at the end of the day, we are all fans.
I'm afraid I'll keep it brief as it is a long night for me but I'll rejoin you all in a couple short hours. Thank you for listening.
Any questions will be answered to the best of my ability. Geaux Tigers.
