I didn’t include Bailey bc he wasn’t ready with no practice time…. You couldn’t just throw him out there…. Im saying Maurer and Shrout sucked which is an indictment of our staffs recruiting and development…. JG was not a good QB but his back ups were not any better.

Reminds me of the Simms vs Bray situation. Simms looked better on paper, but when Bray took over our 3rd down conversion numbers doubled. Completing to the wrong guy 70% will win far less games than completing to the right guy 60%.

You think Spencer Rattler is the only high school QB that has told a WR he sucks? You seriously think he is the only high school All American QB that has ever been a douche? Im sure Lincoln Riley saw the same video, and heard way more stories than you or anyone else here, if such stories were actually told. But, then again, maybe Riley didn't hear the stories that Rattler "only cares about Rattler"; somehow he never caught wind of that type of attitude, yet GVol1966 has. 🤔

You're right, one size don't fit all...I would never hold it against the next guy who is handcuffed in the back of a patrol car, talking about killing cops, and embarrassing the entire hell out of all of us, all because Jeremy Banks felt like being a dipsh!t...also, was that the same night he was filmed harassing females? And, Cade Mays is legendary for being a prick in high school...several stories on this board from people who watched him play...he even carried it to UGA, being a prick there. No, not stories of being bad to teammates; but, cancerous stories nonetheless. Dont get it twisted, however...I'm happy as hell both of them saw the error of their ways, and are ballers for the Vols...I love them, and wish them the best, and proud of them.

My point is: you're right, we don't need cancers in the locker room; and, Rattler may be a massive cancer....therefore, we don't want him anywhere near our locker room. Yet, his talent is so, that it, at least, considers a thought to look into him. Sometimes a change in scenery, being around different coaches and dudes, atmosphere, philosophy, is what it takes to balance someone.

Also, another way to look at it: I asked David Weathers one time who the biggest a**hole in MLB was, and without hesitation, "Barry Bonds". Bonds, as EVERYONE knows, was notorious for being a prick, a bad teammate, and selfish; and, ANYONE who knows anything, would've given their first born child for him to be on their team.

Everyone is overlooking that Rattler could be humbled by losing his job to a freshman. No one really knows but it all depends on how he handles himself moving forward.

I do know that a humbled Spencer Rattler + Josh Heupel’s offense is something I’d really enjoy seeing.

Also I believe Riley has consistently went to bat for Rattler. Doesn’t seem like something he’d do if Rattler was a cancer.

Wouldn't a curse be related to spiritual powers? Seems like from your perspective that would be a pretty heavy lift.
More of a Murphy's law situation than spiritual. No other program in FBS shoots themselves in the foot more than we do

lol, troof. always want to list him in my name of worst radio personalities (along with Will West and Mickey Dearstone), but cant remember his name ever.

He's the org cuck.
I can’t stand Will West and I will never listen to him.Ever since he called average sports fans idiots on his show a few years ago I have despised him.I may not know much of the ins and outs about reading offenses and defenses but that doesn’t take away my passion about Tennessee sports.

That clip is from QB1 on Netflix. Rattler's part is pretty stacked with that kind of stuff.

And he got suspended his senior year. From a conversation on another site:

Depends on if Heup wants him here.
If he does, the evidence suggests he was hooking up with his gf.
If Heup doesn't like the kid, then I look at the same evidence and conclude he was a heroin addict, caught dealing cigerarrettes at school for Ubben.

Evidence is tricky like that.

Watch the video someone posted, i had heard Pat McAfee say after TX game that apparently his teammates hate him like they did in HS. I wasn’t sure how true that was but that video says it all. Cocky azz that blames others and thinks that is leading. No wonder the team got way better when Caleb took over

Keep reading. In another post, I explained where I was coming from; hope it makes sense.
Went back and read it and mine still stands. Rattler had been committed to Oklahoma since 2014 and everything was roses. The QB1 was released shortly after he enrolled and I’m sure Riley wouldn’t have yanked his scholarship based on what little was imparted. He put up all the HIGH SCHOOL numbers that you’d want in a face of the program QB. Since then he’s established a track record and it’s not a simple slam dunk for just any program. My post was concerning bringing up Banks and Mays and their personal hiccups that we accepted. There’s a huge difference in giving second chances to a LINEBACKER you have already signed and a hometown legacy OL who wanted to return after spurning you, and a face of the program QUARTERBACK. That’s the position the rest of the team takes it’s cues from. That’s my point. Just a lot more to lose.

"My wife's family pulled me over to Bama fandom. No, her parents didn't go there or anything, their neighbor has big Bama watch parties so they've been all in since about 2010 I guess. The neighbor isn't a former player or anything, they just all love Bama."

"Some buddies at work used to live and die by Bama, and I would watch games with them. Then they got Saban and I've just been along for the ride."

Even if he is now, or has been, I believe people can change, they can grow, and they can grow UP. Absolutely do your homework; everyone is right to not want cancers in the locker room...I don't want them anywhere near campus, much less the locker room, like some in the local media; but, Rattler is too talented to just brush off, based on a high school video, and stories we don't know if true or not.

Boldness, some arrogance...arrogance doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing, especially at the QB position; hell, Manning told Marcus Pollard one time, "if I tell you it's Easter, you best start looking for fcuking Easter eggs". I'm sure Rattler has much arrogance to him...maybe he just needs someone different to help him channel it in a positive way. I have the utmost confidence that Heupel is that dude to do it.

If we are going after a QB in the portal, and Rattler is there, we would be absolute morans to not look his way...at least make inquiries...find out exactly what happened at OU, and the regression.
