Heup has had some success slowing down Kiffins offense when similarly talented teams couldn’t….. I know Ole Miss is much more talented but hopefully Heup has his number.

The thing that worries me with Corral is his running ability. The one area we've struggled with is containing mobile QB's. UF's QB ran wild....even Kenny Pickett's abilty to run played a big part in our loss to Pitt..

Hopefully we've grown from that. I like Banks and Beasley's ability to chase the QB..

Lulz, fair enough. I'm just not a fan there's patches of different colors throughout and then you have the random whatever color the visitors show up. Just looks spotty
You gotta let the OCD go when you’re talking about that many people trying to execute a “live” pattern like this. Speaking as a perfectionist and tendency to be on the OCD spectrum when it comes to organization and uniformity, it really is quite an impressive feat to pull off as well as it has been in the past.

This is going to be a tough game to win. Slowing down MC is going to be a tough row to hoe...a lot harder than it seems a lot of folks here want to believe.

This game is a toss up imo.

Ole miss will score…. We just have to get a few stops…. make them kick field goals and be relentless on offense.

What sucked about Pickett was nobody knew to expect that much from him..I mean he really sucked last year, but we knew we had to slow UFs QBs from running and failed miserably.

I don't mean this as a bad criticism, I think Banks has done an outstanding job considering what he has to work with, or rather what he doesn't have to work with.

Yep. Best case we hold OM to low 30s. More likely they get into the 40s. Corral is a good QB and we need to throw everything we have at him on defense.

Hope we run and grind their defense all day long

What I have been saying. Spy him with Beasley. Have Banks be Micah Parsons all over the field situationally. They can make OM be one dimensional and control the game since the OM D does nothing well.

Gonna take my 11 year old on Saturday. Gonna be a late night driving back, but she’s begging to go.

She’s growing up too fast, so I can’t let this opportunity go.
I would give anything for my 11-year-old daughter to be interested in Tennessee football and be begging me to go to the game! She has her other interests, which is completely fine. However, if she ever comes to me and wants to go to the game, I will be buying tickets within about 10 seconds of that. Hope y’all have a blast Saturday night!

Kid needs to be on the field at all times. I love Theo, he is the heart and soul of our defense; but, it's night and day in the athleticism and speed between the two. By no means am I saying Turnage should play over Theo; but, I'd play him over Flowers and McCollough.

You can see it with Turnage...kid is on another level than those guys. I can only imagine what he can do with those reps and game time.

Disagree on Theo. Theo has been a beast this year. We missed him on those outside runs he has been big on stopping those plays in backfield. Turnage earned some snaps for sure though. It opens up some combinations and ability to be confident resting guys on any spot now that you can trust Slaughter and Turnage off bench

And preseason (and two weeks ago) it was a guaranteed loss…progress.

You have to get them started early….. it is easier to have boys being really interested though.

If hooker would have shown in fall camp what he is doing now and been our starting quarterback since game one, I legitimately think we would be undefeated right now.
If Heupel hadn't got blinded by Miltons extreme physical gifts...then getting Hooker ready would have been the sole focus through camp.

I don't blame Heupel for that, he is human.

One thing I would caution with….both teams can score and score quickly. So if we’re up we keep the pedal down. If we’re down don’t lose your 💩. We can score in bunches. We’re just coming off three years of having to hold a team to under 20 to win so we’re still overcoming that BVS. We could be down 14 in the 4th and still be right in it. Just carry the fight for 60 minutes this weekend.

Ole Miss throws the ball vertically as well as anyone. We have to defend the deep ball well.
They are pretty much running our offense…. Heup has shown the ability to be able to defend it in the past…. Let’s hope he shows the ability to defend it against more talented players

Disagree on Pickett, maybe as fans people didn’t expect him to be good but coaches knew he was really good. The guy was a mid Round projected draft pick and came back because he wanted to be a first round guy. It was known he was a really good QB that has NfL talent

Indoctrinated my daughter from birth (born in 1998 for pete’s sake!)…didn’t take.
One daughter became a die hard and one it didn’t work….. no chance if you don’t start early….. my son on the other hand…. Wanted to miss his birthday party to go to the game. LOL

We need to work hard on our zone Defense all week. I really think that this is a game to sit back in zone with a spy on corral, rush 4 with situational blitzing, and make them drive the length of the field. Protect from the deep ball and big plays. If we can do that and get some pressure here and there, he will make some mistakes.
