Clemson just shows how important an elite QB is at that level. Their rise started when they got that QB that flipped from UT (tajh boyd), and they’ve had a long run of ridiculous QB talent ever since. They’re finally seeing a dip at that position, and it shows in their record

QB has always been the most important position on any football team. However, winning football also takes a lot of good players, two deep, at all the other positions. I agree that Clemson fits that pattern.

Oh yeah, I’m not saying QB is the only position that matters at all, just that it can make a good team great

Bama would be the outlier here as far as QB. They went years without a difference maker at QB and still won at the highest levels.
Their system required an efficient QB that could make most all of the throws and take care of the ball, and they always had one. Their ridiculous recruiting at all the other positions allowed them to do that

That's the point I was making. The QB is important but not the end all be all of a great team. On the other hand, they can elevate a team considerably. Look at Josh Dobbs. If not for JD, Butch may have been gone a year earlier.

No team has ever had the talent advantage alabama had then. You proved my point with the Dobbs reference. The QB position can elevate a team unlike any other position. That’s not even debatable

You can be a great college quarterback and not make it in the NFL. Bama had a run of efficient guys. I can’t remember their names because they were the same guy every year. John David Sarah Jessica Parker was one
Tim Tebow might be the greatest college QB of all time and didn’t make it in the league. Danny Weurfel, Eric Crouch, Jason White, Heath Shuler, the list goes on and on.. it doesn’t always translate to the nfl. There’s no denying the impact they had in college tho

How many made it to the league and were successful?
Successful in College doesn’t always translate to NFL. See FU QB’s of the 90’s and beyond. That said, Bama’s system QB’s could deliver a good deep ball when teams stacked against the run. Tua etc helped change their philosophy and the QB’s they pursued…

MRI of the brain is pretty sensitive. For it to change mood or appear like schizophrenia, it would be a frontal lobe lesion and would be big enough to see with imaging.

Maybe a medication side effect?

Low Sodium level can give really weird mental issues too. High sodium levels can too, which can be associated with diarrhea/lactulose.

Dehydration can also give bizarre mental changes.

Hope that helps.

Bud - wanted to thank you one more time. Your response to my wife's knee fracture/bone graft issue from back in the spring was a major factor in giving her the confidence she needed to give 100% to her recovery. She did exactly as her orthopedic recommended and stayed no weight bearing for 90 days. Then she became an absolute rock star in therapy for not just her age, but any age. Everything is healing well and PT released her well before normal - they had nothing left for her to accomplish. She worked so hard. Even though they released her, she has continued the exercises, techniques, stationary bike riding and resistance bands. I'm so proud of her, but have to make sure she rests it enough. lol. She has a follow-up x-ray and exam later this month, which may be her last for awhile.

Please know that all of us appreciate you a great deal on here and are here for you as well.

But are they great because of the talent around them? A great QB suggest great talent. If they're a great talent they should make it to the league and be successful.

What are you? I stated that the Bama QBs, particularly the ones prior to Tag, were not great QBs. You seem to be in disagreement. My point was and is that a great QB isn't a requirement to having a great team.
It’s not as black and white as you’re trying to make it, but most great college teams have a great QB leading them. You can also be a great QB without being a great NFL QB
