Idk, i think we were closer than people think. But yeah it probably helps. If a school is paying my mortgage and putting a roof over my head id end up there.I'm not about to go back and look at my post history...cause it's a lot or look at the timeline, but if you think about it, we weren't in his top before he transferred closer, but as soon as he gets here or maybe a little before, we are in his top 3. So it would seem to make sense.
I like it. Playing with the big boys. Its one of those things it probably happens more than people think.
Oh, I understand. It always cracked me up with the posters on here, and others who think recruiting is an innocent game, and people really commit to the school for nothing. Maybe some lower tier players, but the 4 and 5 stars needed to win big have a cash flow behind the scenes. I like to think back to the ESPN 30 for 30 Pony Excess, that documentary honestly is just the tip of the iceberg of what goes on. Some are just better at hiding it than others.People would never have gotten behind the 'poor exploited college player' theme if they had any idea how much money was flowing behind the scenes. The only poor football players were walkons and NIL has insured they're no longer walk-ons at a lot of places. If you're worried about poor college kids look for the ones who don't play college football, basketball, or even baseball (if it's the South) and Hockey/Wrestling (if you're in other regions). There are plenty. But tacos aside, has anyone ever seen an unfed football player at the P5 level?
So we’re doomed?Same boat as the rest if you. Hope's are as high as they can be....now.....
But see promise. Offense looks good against weak opponents, but still needs to prove it agai st stronger ones. I may have actually seen the Florida game differently than some/most/anyone? I saw a lot of potential in that game, just not a fully bought in team, or maybe it was just a team not bought in enough to do everything that was asked of them.
After last weekend...we'll see this weekend.
If they pull off a 6-6 season, I'll be ok to happy. But, if they pull off a 7-5 season...I'll be ecstatic and a full blown homer next year. That's how close this year (IMO) is. That does not even take into account a bowl game win or loss.
Personal beliefs...we are heading in the right direction...
...but I've said that before and have been wrong...so...we'll see.

And I totally agree about the non revenue sports, those are the athletes that need help, not these big times B ball and football players.
Does anyone know if the ability to sign 32 players passed? I thought they voted October 5th
Not the best quality but only free one I can find. And it's been that way from day one... Knute Rockne had guys that were playing in pro games on the side. Back then, they'd go and play for city teams. They were also getting paid to play for ND. Wherever there's competition there are those who will cheat to win. You just gotta decide how far you're willing to go with cheating.
Btw, is that doc available online to stream? I haven't seen it.
Which makes zero sense.. it should mirror the transfer rule, which would let us replace all we lost before the seasonA one year rule waiver passed but it isn't retroactive:
NCAA Council approves proposal to replace up to seven transfers in expanded recruiting classes

This is tough. I'm going to go with Ole Miss. The hype it would generate would be incredible and we'd roll into the Alabama game ranked. Losing to UK sucks but we've done it a grand total of 3 times since I've been alive, and I'm 35. I'll get over it. Sticking it to Kiffin, whose decision to leave us in the middle of the night kicked this misery off, would be too sweet to pass up.*We get to 7-5...but you have to choose the 7th win between UK and Ole Miss...
Who do you choose?
For me, it's politics and religion. Never, never, neverSave your liver, my friend and good to see you again! People really do need to learn not to type out every thing that pops into their head, especially if it might involve politics or race. Save those conversations for in person talks and listen before responding. That's too much to ask of twitter tho.
