AV had connections because he was a money guy. The problem of having money is people tell you what want to hear. Add that AV made his identity pretty obvious to anyone in the program, he was asking for misleading info. And he always believed what any friends shared.

I wished he had stopped because it was always going to end poorly, especially with the demands of accuracy from people. And I wanted him to stay and keep helping out veterans and people in need. That always meant more to me than early tidbits on whatever.
Such an unnecessary, yet predictable ending.

So who was he? Just a donor? I never did figure that out, or really tried to tbh. Sometimes he was right, sometimes not.

The best information this board ever got was the highly accurate info around the program leading up to Fulmer's firing, the Kiffin hires, and Kiffin building his staff. It seemed like there were SEVERAL insiders feeding that info. You could read as they pieced the puzzle together based on what they were hearing. I remember telling family members that we were going to hire Kiffin, his father, and Coach O, and you would have thought I told them we were building a second Neyland on the moon. Sure enough, a few weeks later it all came together.

This board hasn't seen insider knowledge and collaboration like that since.

Will need to average north of 15 carries for the season to get there I think, right now he's at 14 carries a game and 91 yards. He missed the Pitt game, so I'd say if he doesn't miss any more games and stays on average he should get there.

I think he'll have a few more big games though as the OL continues to improve.

Observations so far this AM:

Heup may be smart to openly support Bubba's win in Bama. Bubba's a big Vols fan like all of us and his mom is a VFL. If your primary goal is to win with Vols football, which is Heup's, you need to take advantage of every edge you can to improve recruiting and performance. Once they arrive on the hill he can work on better relations between players of all backgrounds teach equal respect and love as humans. Just needs to make sure he openly supports other winning drivers who are also big Vol fans. Bubba has to live with the fact his accusations were proven false. We all sin and fall short of the glory.

If the players want to wear an alternate uni for a game - great. If all of this is to just hype Kiffin's return - nah. I would much rather line up in traditional unis without gimmicks against him. Just treat it like another game against an inferior opponent and whip their arses. If one is superstitious, then one might hope they wear the same uni they wore against Mizzou for every game the rest of the season.

Urban needs professional help and a heart change. Feel badly for his family.

MLB still doesn't get it. One WC game before moving into the next round does not produce the income stream and fan interest that is left on the table, or possibly even the best team to move on to next round. One SP has an off night and it is over by the 5th inning. College baseball's CWS event blows them away IMO. Reduce the useless game schedule and do a real playoff WS like with it. It is riveting to watch as a baseball fan. They can replace college type regional/super regional play with divisional match-ups based on records. Bring more teams into it to make it nationally interesting. The bottom feeders need to go home anyway as their orgs lose money by just opening the doors with such bad attendance. Cut the regular season down to 140 games or so, increase the roster size to 27 and get it done. The players are then more rested with less injuries before the playoffs begin with every regular season game meaning more, which drives up attendance and revenues.

Just like CFB needs to realize with a playoff expansion. You want to end dominance of a few teams? Open it up to more opportunity for upsets and greater exposure of other programs to future players. Or keep doing what you are doing to give Bama an easy path.

That roster had some serious dawgs. Jennings being the biggest of them all, dude got kicked off a team BECAUSE he wanted to play against Vandy instead of just using his medical RS.

Having met Jennings one thing was clear, that dude is without question self made to the max and puts in the work.

I would expect a uniform reveal tomorrow afternoon. The past couple of weeks (maybe all season???) the team has posted on social media the uniforms for Saturday. If there isn't a reveal tomorrow then maybe that is a sign of something unique?

Honestly got no issue with Heupel congratulating Bubba.

Why? Cause Bubba Wallace is a vol fan OG. So he's suffered through the crappy hires like the rest of the fans, he's never wavered that the Vols are his team. Dude had a very weird situation happen, one that regardless of what your personal thoughts are seemed way too specific to be sheer coincident (even though it apparently was).

If Bubba had a bit more negativity around him (like Urban Meyer at the moment) then I'd say maybe don't draw any attention to it. But his biggest blackeye is speaking out about an act he thought was racist which later was revealed to just be the most bizarre and random coincident.

I discredited him some when he said Alvin Kamara sold weed at UT. Even if true, it was strange for someone in a position that he claimed to be in to come to a message board and say. At that point, I kind of assumed he was someone important's son or a troll.
