ESPN has our efficiencies up over 70% now. They bumped us up 28 spots in their FPI rankings, from #54 to #26. They give us an ~80% chance of a win against South Carolina. They also now favor us over Kentucky, South Alabama, and Vanderbilt. Right now they have us at a 43% chance of beating Ole Miss. As it stands right now, my model favors us in all of those games including Ole Miss.

Some notable rankings now

#24 in run defense
#20 in total offense
#11 in scoring offense
#8 in rushing offense

My model pending weekly updates suggests we will win 8 games in the regular season. For yesterday I used the same model as the week before and after the fact compared its performance to some other metrics. Only 4 of the more talented teams won in the 10 game lineup Freak had for this past week. Only 4 of the higher ranked FPI teams won. Only 4 of the Vegas favored teams won. My model had 6 wins yesterday.

Yesterday was a huge step forward regardless of the opponent. We were a slight underdog and we demolished Missouri. It was brutal. We did more good things that we have done in a long time. Pat Ryan said I think 3 weeks ago that by the end of the year we'd have a pretty good football team. We're getting there. jmo.

I imagine that performance yesterday and hopefully more like it to come are going to be a godsend for our recruiting. You get me?

One last thing. When Tiyon Evans says we're going to have fun - I think we can take him at his word. jmo.
Oh my goodness. Lettuce

Pay Garner and Banks their money. Keep them here and happy.

The d-line plays with more grit than any since the mid 2000s.(not the best since then).
This right here. For the offense to score as fast as they do, this defense has held their own. Really glad to see that group doing the thing

We’re averaging 47ppg and 50ppg in SEC play. That’s fun.

Uhhh...math is a bit off bud.

SEC play: 38ppg (still really dang good) but 62 + 14 = 76
Reg play: we're at 40.8ppg

That 14 in the swamp is the only down game though, we've scored at least 34 in every other game. It would be 47.5ppg excluding the Florida performance.

The part I find most exciting is that all of our points were on offense! Yes I know the Banks INT put us at the one, but that’s 62 points with no defensive or ST touchdowns which usually pad blowout scores.

Yeah 8 offensive TDs in one game. Total last year the team had just 26 offensive TDs.

I’m super interested in CFB models. Mainly for betting purposes as I have no clue how to make one, but I think they’re really cool. I’ll be keeping an eye on you in the Pick Em and if you’re kicking ass I’m gonna be bugging you about giving me access for next year so I can better place my bets 😛
We need a betting thread using a couple of our members' models.

Oops I got excited with my math.

Made this comment awhile back and got blasted for it. He is great with everything in front of him; he is terrible in coverage. Has been playing out of position his entire time on campus.

Same here. He's not able to turn his hips and react like a top CB needs to do. Cornbread made the Teague type move of Dools. Took a really good WR with upside and made a worse d-back out of him. If Taylor plays D, he has to play free safety. Be a Deon Grant style guy in the right scheme.

Heup and this staff are much farther along at this point than most of us thought... Especially with the motley crew of mix and match roster we currently have....

Looking at the roster and how thin we are at certain position groups, with injuries added, pretty amazing to see that we haven't gotten blown out, given up, or rolled over--- And unless we are just too thin with injuries, I don't think we will to anyone this season except maybe AL/GA...

As someone mentioned earlier, pay this staff whatever is necessary to keep them, we need stability in the worst way, and I think that while not perfect, this is the best staff for us right now and for the next 3-5yrs minimum.

I know we are flying high this morning, and we all should be, we deserve it, but there's one position group that still makes me nervous moving forward and I posted about it yesterday--- The Secondary

We are either playing the wrong schemes or our DB/S are not lining up correctly or knowing how much space/gap to give. Remember how Pitt carved up our secondary? Mizz never really got things going, but they exposed us several times being out of position and giving up way too much to open WR's... Better passing teams will exploit this and feast on our secondary... Really hope we get the right kids back there and continue to work and get better... or it's not gonna be pretty...
