We aren’t scared. We would destroy Army. They have not beaten anyone in 20 years. They play 2-4 FCS teams a year and still suck.First off, Tennessee isn't scared of playing Army.
Secondly, Tennessee's wasn't going to blowout Army. Jeff Monken is a respectable coach. They have played Oklahoma and Michigan down to the wire these past few years.
Thirdly, Tennessee knew Army played the triple option and the preperation it required when they made the schedule, so that's not an excuse.
They did it just to piss you off. They knew you were having a good day and they wanted to come over and kick you in the balls. If that pain is not enough why don’t you call them up and ask them to come over and kick you in the balls again. What were they thinking when they cancelled the game with West Point for 2022? Were they afraid to play the game? Who would rather see us play Akron than West Point and to enjoy a wonderful day. If you only had one event to see live I would encourage you to choose the Army/Navy game. Nothing like it that I have ever attended. You can't help but respect these young people. You see them in their uniforms at the concession stand - you pay for their food - and they thank you with a Yes Sir or Yes Ma'am. They will chat with you about their choices and what they plan to do with their lives. We had the chance to have cadets visit our stadium and community, welcome Medal of Honor recipients and have a special day reminding ourselves that not only are we Volunteers and how we got that name but that these young men and women are also volunteers in a dangerous world. Isn't our stadium name to honor an Army general for crying out loud! Playing a military academy should bring us honor, but instead we chose NOT. I am embarrassed that my alma mater made that choice.
