Anyone who thinks the program can just never be elite again is insane. We will have our run again. It’s just a matter of when and how long before that happens.
As long as the idea that 9-3 is a spectacular season permeates the program, then we absolutely will not. Not in this conference.

When hiring, firing, and recruiting are all based on that idea, it's silly to think we will magically just start competing with the 5-6 elite minded programs that will exist in this conference in a few years. "Eventually" doesn't just magically turn into "right now".

And minus some lip service, it's foolish to think the admin won't go along with that. If 70-80k fans show up every week with "I hope we make a bowl game" expectations every season, they will take that and run with it all day long. I mean they just got done booting the last generation of fans that actually remember winning games to the curb.

If I was in charge of protecting the financial interests of the AD... I would look around at the rest of the SEC, realize that the ROI to actually try to get UT to an elite level is not there, and then let the football program run on autopilot while I tell the fans "What we need is stability". And it would be super easy because most fans have convinced themselves of that already.

This team is better than last year's team even with only 71 scholly players. I don't know how anybody could watch the games and not see that. They had the opportunity to win against Pitt and were clearly competing and in the game against UF through 3 quarters in the swamp. A FG miss and a pass drop away from being tied. Heup is working a lot of guys into the rotation in all the position groups. That's what he should do in his first season to learn who can get it done in games, not just practice. Injuries are going to make them look especially bad as they dig deeper into the roster to find bodies. It may also turn up some gems for this season and the future.

Heup is implementing a total system change, a new way to do business type deal. To expect us to win toss-up games may be a bit premature because the program does not know how to win yet besides not having the roster. Add in uncertainty at the most important position on the field and you get what you have seen. Solve that one problem and you can win a couple of toss-up games and pull off a 6-6 or 7-5. If the QB mess continues, they will finish 4-8 or 5-7. It is what it is. Just enjoy the season while it is here and watch the choice of and development of the players more instead of the W/L column.

Bad teams find ways to lose. We’re a bad team. We need more dudes. Most people are tired of looking for victories in losses. Losing fatigue is real and it’s not Heupel’s fault but we desperately need a win against an evenly matched team to offset some of the negativity.

If he starts the rest of the season, I think yes. I'm pretty sure he has one more season.

Hopefully we can pull Stroud or Rattler. Would be a dream. I don't care if one is better than the other, both are better than Milton and you can't argue that. Both are better than Hooker as well.
I must have missed something the last few days..why are we talking about "pulling" Rattler or Stroud? What happened?

November 13th is right around the corner. That will mark the 1 year self-investigation into program. I really don't think we can truly turn the corner until the NCAA man's up and delivers whatever punishment they think we deserve.

The qbs we have on the roster suck. Our qb whisperer coach doesn’t like the room.

Rattler is going to be run out of Oklahoma, because he can’t see the field(JG quality). The freshman qb we have coming in is not a savior and to be honest will get killed behind this line.

I'm likely in the minority here, but I am not completely out on Milton. He's shown flashes of what he could be. Work on touch and vision and he could be a completely different looking QB in the future. He still has to earn the spot back though :)

Honestly...just need Hooker to be healthy. Nothing he did in the swamp cost us that game. His only bad miss was to Warren, most the other incompletions were drops or good throws out of harms way.

I feel like Milton has all the physical tools, but something just isn't working...not sure when or if it's going to click for him. He seems too worried about getting hit to really be effective with his legs and he can't hit deep balls with any accuracy so not sure what ya do with that type of project.

Just took on a new client who is beginning with a massing phase so I’m like,
“Ok, so we’re going to do the exact opposite of what I do to start any client” 😂
have some pizza. And then have some more pizza. Lift heavy. No cardio. Have some more pizza. Now get some ice cream. Lift again. And finish the night off with a light pizza snack before bed.

Wishful thinking.

Stroud was benched due to injury but McCord played pretty well so I'm hoping he takes Stroud's job.

Everyone apparently hates Rattler now, so some think he leaves lol.

That warren miss was brutal though - changed the momentum for sure. We punted and they scored.

But yeah, that was really the only bone headed thing i saw.

I hate how he climbs the pocket some time - he doesn't seem to know how to escape.

Overthrowing a shovel pass kinda did it for me.

Yeah something I think staff is trying to coach out of him. At VA Tech seemed that was coached, you look at the first couple options and then move forward and take off.

Here is a hill I will die on..This team is better than the **** I saw last year period. Anybody that says different is either an idiot or a liar.

If Hooker was able to stand in the pocket and read the defenses as fast as Milton (or Bailey) both seem to do...well he'd be elite, but also probably already in the NFL.

Someone here said it once, can't remember who...but you'll never land a finished product QB in the transfer portal. Cause if they were that good they'd be starting or heading to the draft. And I think that is true, Russell Wilson is the only QB transfer I can recall being a finished product, he just wanted one more shot at a championship in college so went to Wisconsin.

Next 2 games are huge. 2-0 would be huge for obvious reasons from a final record standpoint, but would also give concrete evidence to confirm what a lot of us feel like we're seeing - that this team is better than last years, that the system can work, and that the players are improving under these coaches. More than that, it would get us over the proverbial hump of closing out wins.

Big fan of two teams this weekend:

Tennessee and Arkansas.

Would LOVE if Arkansas beat uga this year.

Arkansas looks very good and, seeing Clemson's poor play through 4 games, has faced a tougher schedule. I'm fairly confident in UGA's defensive front 7 against run heavy teams, unless the officials allow constant holding like Florida has done so far. No defense can hold up well if the offense is allowed to do that.

Either way, I wouldn't touch Georgia minus 18 points. I'm hopeful we'll get some receivers and DB's healthy by Saturday.

Rattler is not "JG quality"...Milton is.

So..is there a lot of stuff out there that Stroud or Rattler are going to transfer out of their programs? Like I said, I must have missed it.
