One possession game going into the 4th, even with a FG. Coaches put the guys in positions to succeed. Just have issues with execution
Agree. Not saying we win and likely we don’t but this was the game. It deflated our team. The score was likely a lot closer than the final score showed. Sadly that doesn’t matter in the end.

I don’t care what happens in practice with Bailey. Obviously Milton killed it in practice and your guy annoyed him. Turns out he sucks on Saturdays and is terrible. Let’s turn the page form the practice warriors and let Bailey and hooker get all runs with the ones. And he wasn’t behind Maurer. That’s completely false.
Most consistent in practice is different than killed it….. Hooker has been running with the 1’s…… Bailey ran with the ones camp and was awful…. He was awful against Tech…. He is not the answer. I don’t think any of them is the answer…. Hooker has at least been able to be serviceable in games but that is looking like that is the best we are going to get out of the QB position this season….. Going to have to find one in the off season.

I think Coach Heupel can eventually achieve 8-4 consistently, and 9-3 regular season records on occasion, but I can't at this time see Tennessee getting to the point of defeating Alabama, Florida and Georgia on a regular basis at all. It really boils down to recruiting the "Jimmy's and Joe's", as Coach Majors said.. Recruiting seems stagnant at the moment, and winning games is what turns that around, etc.. Not trying to be negative, but it was frustrating to see Florida make adjustments at halftime and then come out and just hammer us in the 2nd Half. We really made no adjustments for the 2nd Half, from my viewpoint. Idk, Tennessee just isn't what it used to be, and I'll be 55 soon, so I just don't see Tennessee being anything better than average, which I guess is better than our current status, but it looks like we could lose 32 in a row to Bama, like LSU did in the 1970's, 1980's, 1990's, etc.. I just never thought it would be this bad for so long, but it has.. Tough to face reality.. Naturally, I knew we wouldn't win, but after playing well in the first half, it was just BAM!! and it was over in the 2nd Half, another loss to hated Florida.. Oh well.. I will always be a Vols fan, but I don't think Tennessee will ever play for an SEC Championship ever again, at least in my lifetime.. I just despise losing, just straight up can't stand it, but the kids played hard in the first half, I'll give them that..

There is plenty and I mean plenty of proof that the CJH offense doesn’t work against defenses like we saw today. Spare me the we need a QB Bs as that proof includes lots of data with an NFL QB at Mizzu.

The facts are this offense hasn’t worked in the SEC and I’d bet my ass it’s not going to work. 14 pts is about all that man Averages against good teams.

He was doing his damndest to pad Those stats at the end with those starters in the game like he did against those awful teams where Drew Lock threw 7 TDs to make that resume look better. Damn him for risking those kids at the end.

Those padded stats don’t mean much when you can’t muster more than what we saw tonight.

THE SYSTEM doesn’t work!!!
We literally had dudes running open lol and dropped passes. Gtfoh with this CJHs offense doesn’t work you miserable being.

A serviceable Hooker might be enough for 6 wins and a chance at an above .500 with a bowl win. That would be a better year one than any of our last 3 coaches had. I’d be tickled with that.

I’m usually the biggest negavol on the earth but I love this team so much. I see so much potential. Rather than us saying “so and so play call could’ve won us the game” we are saying “if we had executed our gameplan we beat a top 10 team on the road”.

Saying Bailey was “awful” against Tech is a little unfair lol. It was our 3rd string vs their 1st string and he still scored a TD.

Lol. Tech… with the fourth string. Let’s see him with the ones before jumping to anything. One thing is for certain, Milton sucks. I wouldn’t be shocked if our entire QB is different next year.

Most consistent may not mean killed it, but you literally posted that your unnamed source was in "awe" of Milton.

I don't want to judge Bailey too harshly based off of his performance against Tennessee Tech since he was mostly playing with our benchwarmers. He has looked very underwhelming imo, though, in his playing time dating back to last season minus the spring game. Milton has also been underwhelming, though, so it wouldn't bother me if Bailey got a few more practice reps with the 1's. All of that to say, Hooker is our best bet at quarterback for this season despite his shortcomings. As you and others have said, the long term answer isn't on the roster.
