did you listen to the whole thing?

person to their left could have been paying $200 per seat. person to right $1700 per seat.

based on location, this makes all seats same price & requires a donation with it. 45% of ST holders dont donate. Big schools have done this for years, its mystifying why we didnt do it sooner. its very smart business, iyam.

its a long term play. to help with reno'a we desperately need. luxury boxes ans updated amenities.
Why do we need luxury boxes? I have no interest in paying more for a ticket especially with the product on the field.

For a few years, I was buying season tickets from someone at a small discount over what the season tickets would be through UT-$1400/ticket versus $1600/ticket. Found out they had inherited the tickets, wasn’t really a vol fan, and was just taking a $2200 profit. Something like 60% of actual season ticket seat prices are going down with this move.

Well **** that guy. Hope his tickets just got taken in this overhaul

1k for 6 season tickets? Is that the donation and then he also pays for the tickets each game on top of that? If he was paying 1k a year only for 6 season tickets then he has no right to be upset now… he was getting way too good of a deal for years.
And probably selling some of them for a profit.

Jimmy hyams with Brent hubbs said he has a friend that has paid $1,000 a year for 6 season tickets for years now because they are putting club seats in his section, to keep his seats in that section he will have to pay $27,600. WTF!!!

Who the F is going to pay that sh*t!?!?
Can’t be true

I knew something was off when you said Jimmy Hyams had a friend

I got to watch the last Cowboys exhibition game in a suite. Now I can’t go back to viewing a game in the bleachers with you scumbags. # Standards 😎

Blake Toppemeyer is on a Memphis radio show every Friday. He said buying out Army was dishonorable and mentioned the several connections that UT has with the Army. He said that the few UT fans he had spoken to also agreed with him. They laughed about the release mentioning it being started by Fulmer. The more I hear him, the more of a bozo he sounds.
The buyout talks started when Pruitt and Fulmer were still there---they didn't start with this new administration.

They are going to make it so that nobody will want to go. If they was on Bamas level I might get it but Tenn has been irrelevant for so long that raising these prices makes zero sense. They cant make Tn good by doing this stuff
As long as the conference is giving around $60M a year to conference members, ticket sales may be pushed further down the chain. If they shrink the seating capacity further and make the seats more comfortable, they may be on the right track. Nothing ever stays the same.

Oklahoma did this within the last ten years and I thought it was almost too late then. I couldn’t believe we were still operating like that.

Everyone will be up in arms about this, but it’s the right business move and it’s the right move for the fans in my mind.

I agree but the premium seats on west in down low are overpriced. It won’t include any type of food comp and you won’t be able to see over the players on the sideline in the first 10 rows. I am not going to spend 18,000 to pick up a lounge area. I can get 50 yard line seats at Tech for 30 percent of the cost. I am thinking Braves premium season tickets and picking a couple of big SEC games per year at UT.

Everyone has an opinion about us and Army.

I don't care about radio washups all around the country, especially locally, that have to manufacture talking points or grasp desperately to national talking points for ratings.

I don't care about national fans that don't know enough about the sport or the history to form an opinion that's even worth listening to.

I don't care about the blog-generation "journalists" that are basically complaining because they think they were robbed of an opportunity to point and laugh if we lost the game.

The easy narrative to write is that we are "scared", but then they turn around and write articles about how CFB is big business. Markets are big business. Conferences are all about big business. Tv deals are big business. The playoffs are big business.

We go and get out of a bad deal that two staffs have agreed was not in the best interest of the program (or this staff's team), and we're "skeered."

Then don't buy the tickets. Someone else will gladly pay the going rate and when the product on the field is better, you'll still be complaining.

Yep only folks mad are those that have been cheating the system all these years and deferring their donations as they were grandfathered in

Not true. I am pissed at the product and I have been talking to them for months. They have overpriced the new West premium. They can’t even finish the lounge area by 22 nor tell you what type of seat. Dang thing better not be hard azz plastic. But look at the disrepair of Neyland. I think everything is fine outside the ridiculous money grab of people who’ve been supporting this crap show who are NOT GRANDFATHERED in. But with 40 million of TV money coming in, they don’t care. I’m going to try it for a year but they better freaking win and it better start today. Also, five figured football donators should not have to pay a dang thing for any other sport. More I think about it the more I want to tell them to screw themselves. Thanks for letting me rant. You took my money with my loyalty but I can’t give great seats away and you now do this. These seats with no food should’ve been 3100-4000 depending on section and seat location
