So I heard a little bit of Brent Hubbs on the radio today. Seems like part of our recruiting strategy is to find bodies in the transfer portal. Seems risky to me to hope that not only do quality players decide to leave their current programs, but that we can convince them to come here. Other than Garner, I have concerns about this staff's ability to recruit. People say Tennessee recruits itself, but I'm not currently seeing that.

Staff came late. Coming off a 3-7 season with unknown situation involving NCAA sanctions. This years recruiting class is gonna be rough. I think Baylor made a living with transfers some years back. Heupel has to go whatever he can to fix the cluster**** left by Gump and daddy fat azz Fulmer.

it does recruit itself to an extent but we have burnt it to the ground…..we investigated ourselves( the wait for penalties will be worse than the penalties themselves)….. we haven’t won in 14 yrs….. all our border states have at least one pretty decent team in it…. We use to feast on this states….. our fan base becomes more toxic by the day…. In a few years…. Hopefully, we will have an exciting, fun brand of football that can draw kids in to the program.

As for transfers….. we have to get transfers bc of our lack of quality depth next year….. most freshman aren’t ready to play.Right now our recruiting needs to look like a mixture of:

Florida- feast on transfers( Florida’s recruiting has been sub par if it hadn’t been for transfers.
Kansas State-Knock it out of the park with jucos( slimmer choices with the new transfer rules)…. After 1988 when Tennessee went 0-6 to start the year due to horrible defense….. majors went out and brought in Chuck Smith, Chris Mims, and Dale Carter from Jucos to get us pointed in the right direction.
Clemson- great evaluators…..rarely missed, solid players everywhere and hit on a star every once in awhile…. Now Clemson gets top 5 classes every year.

I watched the Juan Jennings end zone catch w a Georgia fan. Everyone rooting for me. They throw that bomb. The GA fans start talking mad **** about you should see your faces. Then dobbs to JJ happened. They got their cooler left the party. Epic. I’ve forgotten about the births of 2 of my children. Will never forget that.
I had 3 Georgia fans in my house watching that game with me. It was just the 4 of us, so I was the only TN fan. I knocked over my chair, ran up and down the stairs of my house yelling twice, came back in the room, and finally calmed down, then noticed I had blood on my thumb where I had somehow scratched it pretty good during the celebration. They just sat there in disbelief. It was glorious!

@HoleInTheRoof
Two new names to watch that Tennessee is evaluating are Memphis are players Keyron Crawford of Briarcrest and Javante Mackey of Whitehaven. The Vols haven’t offered them yet but both are intriguing prospects. Crawford is a defensive end who has been a basketball player. Mackey is a LEO who missed last season due to Covid but is originally from Chicago.

I don’t care what Mackey’s sign is…what position does he play?

Pundits have been saying all year going back to the spring recruiting was going to stink because of the sanctions, etc.

As a fan, I’ve learned to listen to what the pundits say even when I don’t like it. Usually they are right.

For your long term sobriety you really need to forgive yourself and change who you believe yourself to be or inevitably, you risk becoming who you believe you are
I tell that to people all the time when they ask me how do I deal with the guilt. I tell them that person, while a part of who I am, is for all intents and purposes dead, and that was by my choice...I am not the same person that I was.

In my case I freely give all honor to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for that, and a lot of people do not really understand a fundamental truth of our faith..That the true miracle of the blood of Jesus is not mere forgiveness for sin, it is the transformative power that is in it for anyone who chooses to believe.

Before anyone picks me apart..You guys think I am bad now, but you didn't see me twenty three years ago.

Please don’t give me hope. I hurt myself with this blasted optimism and don’t need any outside help, thanks.

That said….

Ha well I was only saying a good chance of covering +20 not about winning. You never know if we actually start connecting the deep balls and the way our special teams steals yards

You can find some good players in the portal and I’d say they probably have their ways of feeling out guys that plan to be in the portal. You lose a lot of veterans after this year is the reason why this staff is looking hard at the portal for this class. Future classes likely won’t be as heavy once things get caught up.

The problem is that in order for us to pull an upset like this we'd have to a lot of things offensively that we have not shown the ability to do consistently. And not make any real mistakes as far as the cumulative effect of a bunch of penalties and winning the turnovers battle.

And that's just not who we've been so far...

I was at a wedding reception and had last checked my phone when Georgia threw their TD pass. It was wild because a buzz started around the room. You could visibly see it spread. Finally, one of the ladies I was sitting close to showed me a text her husband had sent that was a screenshot of the final score and I immediately got up and went outside confirmed and ran around the building screaming for about ten minutes. Many people thought I had lost my mind, but my wife and daughter assured them that that was normal behavior for me. I had recorded it and watched it in its glorious entirety when I got home.

I was home alone with the dogs and I almost broke the remote from throwing it after the UGA td then I scared the literal poop out of one my dogs ass from screaming and running through the house after Jauan’s catch

Yes Milton is practicing and Hooker has run with the 1’s all week…. My person wasn’t at practice but heard from a guy in his crew…. He will be there for final walk through tomm so I will definitely be able to confirm whether anything has changed or not….

Is your person Andy Bowser at the book depository with binoculars?

As HC in his 39 games, Heupel has never lost a game by more than 1 possession (other than his very last bowl game where covid was a disaster)

👀👀👀

WATCH OUT @Jaws
Which is why I put money on Vols to cover. Heup isn't the type of coach who will try to shorten the game after being down 20(Pruitt/Butch). Hell Heup didn't even take a knee the last play of Tech game last week, I took note of that.
