Da Zone UT vs gators- We Gon' Whip Dey Ass [Fo Sure]

The team could have won that ****ing game. I'll end it with that for this beautiful Sunday.

I'm cutting loose emotionally from this **** until they get it together. Yes I'll watch but I'll expect an ass beating from damned near everyone.

Got up and took the kids to church and had a nice lunch after. Wife found out her dad may essentially lose the ability to walk or talk within in a year. Life's too short to put this much stock in a game.

Sorry to hear,DD. Hope his condition actually improves. You're right about life being too short. Priorities and perspectives. Family and friends first. Everything else falls in line or it didn't really matter that much.:hi:

Thanks peeps. Solid advice from your Grandpa Slice. I think I posted about my wife's dad before but it's progressed quickly.
He told us he got diagnosed with a super rare condition early this year. He had signs of it going back a couple years though. To the point that on our last visit I was asking the step mom and anyone that would listen wth was up with him.

The condition gives you 7 years max, you lose speech and the ability to walk by year 5-6 sometimes earlier. He's almost incomprehensible at this point. Been telling my wife to drop everything and go see him for several months. She had planned it but they've cancelled on her twice.

She got a call from her step mom today that she should come and that it's getting bad quick. They're an odd family, no one communicates and her parents have always been known to hide stuff. Who knows how long he's had it but at this point he may only have 6 months of being able to get around on his own. Maybe a year. There is no slowing it down and there are no miracle cases of people kicking it. Just kind of is what it is at this point, a death sentence.

Anyway just good reminder to k.i.s.s., enjoy life, enjoy your family, and don't sweat the small ****.

Sorry to hear that brother.

My granddad was a NC Vol.
When he was still alive we watched a Bama game on tv. It was tied 6to6 late. We had a FG blocked late then Bama kicked one for the win. I was ready to kill someone.

He turned the TV off and said "wanna go outside and pass the ball?" I asked "you're not mad?"
He said " I hurt for my brothers who played today but Vols don't feel sorry for ourselves. Tomorrow they will get up and get ready to kick ass and so will you and I".

I've never allowed a game to affect me for more than an hour or so win or lose.

Miss my Granddad...

tl;dr

I remember that game.

Kewl story.

Losses used to kill me and I hated not to be ranked in the top 10.

Now losses don't hurt as bad and just want to see us in the top 25

I remember after the 98 bcs game I thought how happy I was to see us win it all and thanked baby Jesus I was able to witness it.

I wonder if that was a once in a life experience now.

Every week I think we will win and will always be a volunteer

Thanks bro. And appreciate all the well wishes.

Sucks for my wife. She's never had good parents like a lot of us but they're what she has. Sucks he was so prideful and waited so damn long to let anyone come around. I hate that the most for the family. He'll regret that in the end but it's how he's always operated.
**** when he lost his house 15 years ago to foreclosure he never even told us his new address, we found out when a Christmas card was returned. I hope my pride never gets in my way that bad.
Hopefully my wife has a good visit when she goes.

Last paragraph is true. Prayers to your family, DD!
