Anybody think Pruitt was never really bought in here long term? The hate for UT from the older Bammers is real and he is a bammer through and through. I'm wondering if he came in with the idea of I'm going to get really aggressive with recruiting and maybe he can hit with some talent and get UT rolling again to parlay it into Saban's replacement. And if he gets caught violating rules then he doesn't really care and has just buried UT even further and will maybe get a buyout on the way out the door while screwing over the big bad Fulmer.

Maybe? Or is this too tinfoil hat and he just wasn't ready and is a moron?

Will have to check out EH Taylor. I've added Michter's small batch to my list of future purchases. I know a poster mentioned it was relatively hard to find but we have plenty here in Memphis. I love Blanton's too. For anyone intrigued by Japanese whiskeys, Suntory Whiskey House makes some pretty good ones. The Hibiki and Yamazaki lines are good. Ohishi Whisky is pretty good too.

Go for the gold you cowards!

That's what I always thought...you could tell it the first spring practice when he never wore orange

On the Big Orange Hotline Bob asked Pat and Jeff to each share a story from their experiences playing in the swamp. Jeff told the story of his freshman year when they went to Florida. Tony Robinson had Tim McGee open for the game winning TD but when he went back to pass he slipped on a towel. While Florida won they were on probation and we won the SEC that year and went to the Sugar Bowl.

Pat’s story was Johnny Majors first team in Knoxville, 1977. Doug Dickey was the Florida coach. Pat said we didn’t have a very good team and so we were losing 10-0 as the clock ran down. Florida had the ball on our 35 yard line and with 5 seconds left on the clock they called timeout. Nobody expected they were going to try to score but they did. They threw it into the endzone for a TD. Pat said half of the Tennessee bench rushed to the Florida side of the field and what ensued was the best brawl he had ever seen in his football days. After it was all over several minutes later and the team was back in the locker room Coach Majors addressed the team and told them he’d never been prouder of a group of guys.

my dad played 77/78 and hes told me and my brother that story for years. He said they lost there minds when the play was over. haha i love that story and love the fact other people remember it!

My personal default in situations like this is to never attribute to malevolence and intent what can be explained by incompetence.

No...NOOO...not at all close to Henry.

Henry at every level was a monster, the only player in the history of the game to go over 2k yards in a season at all 3 levels (HS, College, and in the NFL). Beckwith in his entire HS career never reached a TOTAL of 2k yards.
I'm not saying he can be as good or close, just that the game might change for him if he learns how big he is and embraces contact

I love Blantons. If you haven’t had EH Taylor and you can find a bottle, buy one. I like it slightly more than Blantons. Eagle Rare is right up there with those two.
I'll share a drink with you any day, good sir.

EH Taylor when you can find it
Blanton's
Eagle Rare
Buffalo Trace (hit or miss) - they're all from there anyway

Before Covid, I had all of those in abundance. Its gotten harder, especially once people got bored and just started tracking down great bottles because they finally had time. And/or drank a lot more.

I've found that the Old Forester Prohibition Era release is pretty tasty, but more expensive than those. The trade off is that it's available. Similar in palate to the ones listed.

That take is a bit hot for me.

Wow that's an intense GIF. Is that from a movie or something? Can't stop watching.

I think he thought "worse case I get 3-4 years and a big buyout to return to Bama" didn't realize the admin was willing to sink our own ship not to pay his arrogant ass.

It is pretty amazing the amount of fantasy fans have created with him. He doesn't have great high school production to point to and he can't even get on the field for special teams but we got fans that think he is a stud if we would just give him a chance.
Yeah, I'm not convinced he's committed to football. Which is fine, it's his choice... but he's holding a scholarship which is not-fine.

We've heard he doesn't run hard or block hard in practice. Maybe he's a "gamer" and a different person on Saturdays, but he's not going to get his shot when lesser talented guys are earning it in practice.

That's not something that's really learned this late in the career though was my point. Henry just got limited carries in those first two seasons, and once they started giving him more reps his typical style of running showed up. He's always been a 2nd half back, but he has to get the carries in the 1st half to kind of warm-up. Sadly it wasn't until Vrabel took over that they had a coach who knew how to take advantage of it.

I remember watching a game 2 years ago when Henry first started this wild run he is on. The announcers were talking about Henry and almost being out of the league, they said what made him change his mind was a conversation with Eddie George on Henry running soft and him needing to be the one to deliver hits instead of take them.
