Two weeks, and this place are going to be crazy. After we beat Tennessee Tech 70 to 0 and Alabama destroys Florida by 28 everyone’s gonna be convinced we’re gonna roll into Gainesville for the win next week.

after our inevitable loss to Florida, this place is going to be ready to burn it to the ground, fire the quarterbacks, fire the staff, and set fire to the couch

gonna be fun to watch it in real time
Nailed it.

And to that point, Clemson hadn't been extraordinary in recruiting.

2000 Clemson 33
2001 Clemson 19
2002 Clemson 29
2003 Clemson 43
2004 Clemson 44
2005 Clemson 15
2006 Clemson 14
2007 Clemson 16
2008 Clemson 9
2009 Clemson 36
2010 Clemson 27
2011 Clemson 10
2012 Clemson 20

But to my larger point, they built a foundation on pretty-good (mostly) talent. Lots of depth, dependability. Then they were in a position to top it off with a great QB (Boyd) and they ascended to the highest tier of the sport.

We keep looking at Alabama, but maybe we need to study Clemson.

Their fans used eBay to pay $5000 for lamps for players. It's time for us to overpay for talent. Let's go.
The biggest factor in their emergence is program consistency IMO.

Yep. If and when Heupel hits on that QB, he will elevate this program. It will be harder here than Clemson because they have no competition, but with an elite QB, you can win.

You're basing this on what exactly though?

I mean, I've not been to any in person practices and the highlights are edited so who knows how a full day of throwing looks. I know Hooker came off the bench cold tossed for 71.4% 188 and 2 TDs and ran for 49 yards. At this point we really don't know how HB looks in this offense, we have a spring game and that's it. What he did last year isn't an indicator of how well he does in this system.

I have my opinions of Milton & Hooker, basing those just on the 2 games we've played this year. So until Bailey gets on the field and runs some series in this system with live action (even against a TTU is better than a spring game) then I'll just wait to form an opinion.

This is the issue- people are forming opinions without all of the data. I trust the coaches have more data to figure it out. If you just want to say, "Put HB in and let's see if we win or lose." That's fine, but to suggest that it automatically results in a win is not quite being honest. A coach isn't going to pull their starter even if he struggles after one game winning 38-6. QB2 game in to play in game 2. We shall see.

It's expensive, but the new MB Pro is hawt.

Although, for that same price, you could donate to the Fix-Tennessee-Now app (better name pending) and we could buy a god-tier QB. Your choice.
I have the new 13" macbook pro. Is it that much more than a comparably-spec'd surface pro?

Of course not but he knows 100000x more than you, me and anyone else on here. He also has a very good track record with QB’s, offense and scoring lots of points. Questioning someone like that this early makes you look like an idiot. That’s a fact.

I get it, but Pruitt was supposed to be some defensive guru and we couldn’t line up right against Ga St or cover a slant.

All we see at this point is a coaching staff high on a QB that through two games can’t make the important throws needed to stretch the field. It for sure cost us the Pitt game.

Also..while the thought is admittedly absurd, that a dummie like me could be right about Joe Milton and see him fir what he is...what I said in the post you quoted it still absolute fact...They get it wrong all the time...they are human.
Yes, they do.

My point is that these coaches spend every waking second immersed in football. They spend all their time with these players and trainers and coaches and staff. For decades. Doesn’t it make sense that they have a much better idea of who the starting players should be than you or me? I’m sure they’re well aware of Miltons issues and are working tirelessly to fix them. And if there were a better QB option they would take it.

Most of us have never watched a single live snap in practice or sat in a film room for a second or even touched the grass in Neyland. Yet we offer opinions daily on who should and shouldn’t play. That doesn’t seem silly to you?

Maybe we should just sit back, relax, enjoy the games and let Heupel rebuild the program.
