It’s not about it looking good it’s about expanding the defense and not letting them get extra guys in the box. If you don’t have someone to make them respect the deep half of the field, you’re in trouble in this league. There’s really no other way around it.
I just highly doubt the other QBs can’t throw it far enough to make this offense work. What will happen if Milton looks awful again against TTU? Again I’m not looking for arguments. I want one for the 3 to figure this out. Seems like the plays are there to be made. Someone needs to make them.

It's a wonderful fans didn't learn that with JG and other QB's we have had

In regards to the QB situation: I don't want to give up on Milton yet in the long term because of his potential, but it's going to be very hard to win with him against any team that isn't terrible given how erratic he's been throwing the ball.

In the short term, I think a steady Eddie quarterback might just be what Tennessee needs to right now. I'd roll with Hooker until he shows he can't get it done. He wasn't perfect against Pitt, but he kept us in the game and should be able to give us a chance to win any game remaining on the schedule aside from Florida, Georgia, and Bama.

There’s a thread in the FF about this, but I’m still absolutely confused by the sequence of events surrounding the almost-kick-six.

It was a field goal attempt, not a punt. TN catches the missed attempt and advances the ball.

Refs call a questionable block in back on us, but also an offsetting equivalent penalty on Pitt.

Of all the outcomes I thought of as they conferenced that call, simply handing the ball back to Pitt for a do-over was not ANYWHERE on my list of what was likely to happen next.

I kept waiting for someone to whistle from on-high and correct the situation.

What the heck was that?! Am I way off base in being confused by that?
Heupel said in his presser that we had the option to start our possession but we would’ve been backed up to the 5, so decided to have them replay the down. I think 10/10 coaches make the same call. I mean, how many kicks will Pitt’s punter have downed inside the 5 this year? Ball just didn’t bounce our way on that one.

My buddy who is a Kentucky fan saw they fired Helton, and was like “are UT, Nebraska, and USC in a race to see which formerly good program is the most dysfunctional?”

I screenshotted it. If USC ends up getting Mark Stoops, I’m going to be relentless.
Fortunately for him they will probably end up with the most talented Stoops brother.
