Yes and no. I would've liked to have played with some of my teammates and run through the T. I played some in college. I was going to end up in the real world regardless.
You were probably better than I was and I had a chance at a smaller college. But I realized that would be a short lived thrill and it was time to get ready to be an adult. So I went to Tennessee… as an engineering student.

My epiphany was the Orange and White game my senior year. All the local high school player got to get in free of course. I played interior line both sides of the ball. All those guys were 40+ lbs heavier, broader reach, clearly stronger… etc… even if I tried to go to linebacker which was a better physical fit they were half a second quicker with a better vertical jump. And yeah stronger too. My choice was clear 🤷‍♂️ Don’t regret it a bit.

You want a fight at a football game .... this happened in Memphis Saturday ...knocked out ....
Can't we all just get along?? Can't we all just get along??

So my dumb ass left the outdoor fridge on during the great freeze and it hasn’t cooled since. Compressor runs but won’t cool.

I knew the refrigerant load was much lower on fridges so I watched a silly ass DIY YouTube video. Use a “specific” gauge and just add a little R134a until I saw 2PSI on the suction line. This is after you install the piercing valve so you can do this. Didn’t work for jack but now I’ve got an R12 valve installed at least.

So now it’s time to get serious. I find the compressor plate, see the required refrigerant load and design pressures so I just go rent a vacuum pump and get out my automotive gauge manifold. Hook up my gauges, well what do you know this thing seems to be just like a run of the mill car R134a system!

Pull vacuum and leak check, purge the lines after swapping the bottle back in, measure out and load up about 2.5 oz of liquid refrigerant, top off system with gas until I see 35psig on the suction line. Working like a champ now. But I do think the coil fan isn’t running and I’m trying to find a part for that. Anybody got any ideas.

But I think I just save myself a ton of cash and I didn’t even stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night 😎 These freaking stainless outdoor fridges run around $1200 to $1500 bucks.

My old ass advice is to just pay a professional to fix it. I used to be a I can fix everything kind of guy. While I can fix most things sometimes it's better left to the guys that do it for a living. I have a newly built shed in the back yard and I was contemplating putting gutters on it from Home Depot and it dawned on me, why? I don't have any experience doing that kind of thing why wouldn't I just pay someone a few hundred dollars to do it for me?

No way in hell I would hang gutters. This wasn’t too bad though just basically like recharging a car once I found the right refrigerant load. It isn’t clear to me the fan is a huge deal as there’s a thermal shutoff on the compressor that kicks in. I’m keeping a box fan on it to get it to run continually to cool down. If it holds after that I’m done. If it thermal cycles the compressor too much I’ll try to find a fan or call appliance repair. I’ve one of them I call for stuff like this.

What is the fan blowing on? If it's blowing on a coil, the thing will never work right again until you put another fan on it.
