The Official CoronaZoneVirus Thread

Problem is, that has been celebrity is the most popular podcaster in the nation.
I know, but good grief, he suddenly becomes a authority on medical advice on a unproven horse drug for humans just because he has a media voice? Sad part, people will listen while driving up his audience. I read he tested positive and was trying the drug. Two days later, tested negative. Now anyone that listens to him or caught that on their news feed will automatically look for that. SMDH.

Yep. And I am sure he was also getting the best proven medication. But just animal de wormer gets the attention.

that’s exactly why I said that people are scared and maybe word it this way better, act stupid when they don’t understand. Group mentality will follow someone with a known name, without really knowing if that’s all that was used, if any to make him better.

Well, I’m talking about preventives, to reduce chances of infection, rather than treatments, once someone is infected. I’m not going there. But apparently people are using invermectin as a preventive. It’s impossible to show that vaccinations don’t reduce the risk of infection, and their side effects, when they happen, are almost always relatively mild. Low fever, body aches, feeling like crap, flu-like symptoms. Almost always for a day or two, rarely up to a week. Meanwhile, invermectin, used as a preventive, has side effects including sometimes hospitalization, and there is no evidence that it works as a preventive. Yes, its use is being explored and tested, but results so far are nowhere close to matching the effectiveness of vaccines.

The NatGeo article is pretty readable. I don’t think it’s behind a firewall, although of course they like to pop up warnings.

But again, when you’re trying to protect your loved ones, why do we have to get sidetracked by political debates, as you mentioned (political pressure)? Wouldn’t we just grab the sturdy rope, and debate the one star vs five star ratings later, once we’re on dry ground?
I’ll just say this, shortly after COVID had gotten widespread my own brother who is a hospitalist in Colorado Springs tested positive from one of his patients and started experiencing COVID symptoms. He took hydroxychloroquine, azithromicin and zinc and was symptom free in 48 hours with no detrimental effects.

This was in the very early days, right? I’m glad he recovered very quickly.

Watching Penn St - Wisc... seems like COVID is a thing of the past. So many fans in the stands. Think about all the stadiums filled today... should be interesting to see if there is an uptick in cases over the next several weeks.

Edit: And both went fully remote last spring semester to protect themselves. Last fall, they cooperated with every mask requirement, too. I had them in class and never had to ask them to put on a mask or even to pull their masks up. They were careful.
That's a dang shame! I pray they kick the virus' ass and make a full recovery.

This morning at church my pastor announced that Brother Snell, one of our members that hasn't been to church in several months passed away last night with covid. Just a few days after one of his daughters had died from it.

Tonight he announced the email he received was wrong.

Brother Snell is still alive although he is in bad shape and not expected to make it, but it was his other daughter that died last night. I can't imagine.

I didn't know these people well, just knew of them, but it's all around and getting too close to my hoola hoop.

The Snell family could use some prayers if you think about it. Mr. Snell especially.

Dang, we're praying

Just got word that my cousin in Nashville died of COVID early this morning. My mom was the baby of her siblings, and all but one of my first cousins were older than I am. Mom said he was 72 and had some health issues in the past. We had not seen him in several years.

I despise this disease a lot.

Please say prayers for the family.
