Actually kind of is just not dynamic with legs. Big arms with lack of touch. More straight line than arc on throws. Big and powerful runners but difference is Newton was more dynamic a runner and willing to lower the shoulder.

The good news is that we have a long week ahead of us.

The good:

Evans and Small looked great
OL and TE blocked extremely well in the second half
Halftime adjustments on defense made a huge difference
Halftime adjustments on offense were solid
The scripted plays to start the game
Overall, tackling was very good
Very few missed assignments on defense
McGrath looked very solid
Shutout and less than a 100 yards in the second half
Solid pressure on passer most of the night

The bad:

Wide receivers got limited separation
Drops by Hyatt
Not able to get two yards on 4th and 2
Velus with very few touches
Milton holding the ball way too long
Less hurry up after it seemed pretty effective in the first quarter
TE very limited involvement in the throw game
Created no TO on defense
Had our starting QB still needing to play halfway through the 4th quarter


The ugly

The second quarter
Milton strip sack
Milton only completed 2 passes after the first quarter
The holding call on Carvin on the TD run

Milton is who he has always been, he isn't going to just change now. WRs also can't catch even when he does get it close. Afraid this is going to be a long season.

Tiyon Evans looks like a dude though.

38-6 is a decent win. I was expecting more points but am not yet ready to freak out. 309 yards in the second half was a big improvement. Need much, much, much better QB play.

DL definitely plays more aggressive. Competition not great but seen several dudes moving two people blowing plays up
