Tee Hodge In Transfer Portal

When kids transfer after a year of not getting to play, I don’t blame the kid. I blame whoever lied to them in the recruiting process and told them they were going to compete for a starting spot

It's not really a lie. The coaches say they can compete for a spot. They don't guarantee playing time. Some guys are going to lose the competition as they develop and their best is measured against others. Doesn't make the coach who is talking to a seventeen year old a liar. Each kid gets to come in and compete and earn it if he can.

Dude nobody lied to Tee Hodge, if he was good enough to be higher on the depth chart he would be there. He has been competing for the job for awhile and never made a move. Sometimes it's nobody's fault, not all players are the same. I hope he finds a school were he can compete and play. Best of Luck to Tee Hodge. But quit with they lied to him nonsense, nobody was lied too. GBO!!!!

Don't you know how this works? This is one of our players portaling so none of our coaches lied to him, now if this exact thing happened at a rival school, then of course Saban/Mullen/Kirby lied to the kid, and they should be ashamed. Who taught you how to fan?

I didn't really follow that. If I understood it, I think I would say it's not what I was talking about.

He’ll be missed on special teams. Our scholarship numbers are the lowest in the SEC
Not even sure he'd see special teams much. We'll be running mainly 1st & 2nd string O & D players on special teams under Heupel..

This is why you don't recruit Maryville.
There is some truth to that. Maryville kids are system players which works well for a team concept but college is based more on talent. As I posted in another thread I can not think of many examples where Maryville kids are successful in major college programs.

He was buried and apparently unwilling to give it a go at LB. Neither he nor Whitehead have gotten any mention. Neither was apparently a factor at all. Even a walk-on had earned his way in front of them.

Hopefully Whitehead sees the writing and moves to D.

He was apparently passed by Pierce, a walk-on. I hate it but it doesn't appear he was the "diamond in the rough" we'd hoped.

I don't think anybody is going to say coaches lied when a player is 5th on the depth chart and has never moved the entire time here. I don't care where he goes to school. The vast majority of players in the portal aren't leaving because anybody lied to them, the vast majority are there because the couldn't crack the lineup or get close. Coaches are going to play the best players, the ones that want to keep their job anyway. GBO!!!!!

5th on the chart, I can actually appreciate the move. Kid wants to play and the new rules give him the chance
But some just can't leave it at that, they want to create some freakin conspiracy that coaches lied to a guy that had been here for 2 years and couldn't crack the 3 deep much less 2 deep. Nothing against Tee, I hope he finds a spot at another school and don't blame him for going somewhere to get more time. GBO!!!!

Tee who? In all seriousness, there was probably something in his protection/blocking ability as to why he was so deep on the depth chart. Some RBs fail to recognize that protection is a significant skill that is needed in today's offenses. Obviously, this is just speculation, but best of luck to him. If he was 6th on the TN depth Chart chances of starting at another SEC school are slim, best look at the group of five.
