Glad you’re in the pipeline. We haven’t heard anything yet, which I assume is due to waiting on FDA approval.I got an email today to schedule booster for October. Wife should be due in January.
Edit: We both got Moderna: daughters got Pfizer.
Not Gordon, but apparently they are waiting on J&J to submit their proposal and data. They got started a bit late (ignore the title; it’s for a news feed; link should take you to a specific J&J article):I have not heard if J&J will need boosters - have you ?
No. The teacher across the hall from me did not get the Moderna with the rest of us. She had covid during her pregnancy and wanted to wait to get the vaccine after the baby was born. She got the J&J and was wondering if/when she would need/get a booster. We talked about that very thing today.I have not heard if J&J will need boosters - have you ?
Wow in Ala****:
UAB projects 5,000 COVID patients in hospitals in weeks
Translation: if you are unvaccinated, and you are sick enough to be hospitalized, you have a 1 in 3 (33%) chance of having to be in an ICU bed. (You really, really don’t want to need to be in an ICU bed.) Assuming that there is one. Seems like first time around, I truly can’t remember by now, when things first got started in March-June of 2020, it was more like 1 or 2 in 10, meaning 1 in 10 (10%) or 1 in 5 (20%), chance that if you were admitted, you’d need ICU-level of care.
Here’s the difference with the Delta variant.
I would not want to gamble on those odds.

This is over the entire state. Please Zoners, keep being smart and safe, and FFS, don’t have a heart attack or stroke or major car wreck for the next bit.“In most parts of the state, the average person who has a heart attack today or is involved in a serious automobile accident, it’s going to be difficult,” Dr. Harris said. “The hospitals are going to have to be real creative in finding a place to be able to care for that patient.
I think that’s the legislative thing, the Payroll Protection Plan. IIRC, Missus Mojo is involved with a separate business plan that helps employers specifically with encouraging (“incentivizing”) vaccinations for employees. Although I’m pretty sure that I’ve got at least part of that wrong.@BigOrangeMojo
like has been said many times over, most people just believe a lot of misinformation, it’s not always necessarily about selfishness. And then a lot of people truly believe they would be succumbing to the left (politically) by getting the vaccine. And that just can’t happen. Because you know, science is all about politics.
The religious exemption is a cop out.
I think the total number is 17 (not counting Covid). I want to say that meant 11 pokes for me at basic training (as in I had had six of them already). But those 17 aren’t “politically motivated” according to a lot of people. Are they okay with the other pokes they would have to get? Don't you guys have to have numerous vaccines?
The isolation and hygiene is what stopped the spread. Being able to come out of the shell was the carrot used to encourage vaccination. Only it doesn't seem to be working. Vaccinated people are getting sick and a few are dying. There is no evidence that variants are being spawned by unvaccinated people and even if they are it won't matter if we vaccinate everyone in the US so long as we're letting unvaccinated people pour through the southern border and allowing international travel into and out of the country. If you want this to end, we're all gonna have to go back into lockdown and stay there until it's died out for lack of hosts. Only people in this country are too selfish to accept that so they have to believe that doing something as passive as getting a shot suddenly makes them not part of the problem and fully licensed to pass judgment on others.

I don't know if this is more selfish or ignorant. You must be independently wealthy to realistically suggest that small town economies can withstand another full blown shutdown. The isolation and hygiene is what stopped the spread. I agree, on that was his point. But nobody around here passes judgement on others except me.Pretty sure it was "The vaccine isn't working as expected. Vaccinated people are getting sick and dying. We should blame foreigners and Mexicans for the spread. People who are vaccinated shouldn't pass judgment on others who aren't vaccinated (his main point) "
This is what I gathered. The isolation and hygiene is what stopped the spread. Being able to come out of the shell was the carrot used to encourage vaccination. Only it doesn't seem to be working. And that ^^^ is not passing judgment. It’s a simple statement of fact. I’ve done both, and I’m ashamed of passing judgment. But I’m not ashamed of stating the facts when I read stuff that’s obviously untrue. This is what I gathered.
I disagree. If you aren't vaccinated you ARE part of the problem. Even if you have a reasonable excuse, you are still part of the problem whether you like it or not.
