Alabama has 1557 ICU beds and estimates that 25% of hospitalized covid patients are in ICU at a given time. Yesterday, there were 2731 covid hospitalizations in Alabama, meaning there are an approximated 683 covid patients in ICU with the state's hospitals. That's 44% of ICU beds being taken up by covid patients. There wasn’t a single I.C.U. bed available in Alabama on Wednesday.
90% of the Covid patients are unvaccinated.
96% of Covid deaths are unvaccinated.
If it's headed to Knoxville, then it's gonna have to deal with THE BIG RED MACHINEFlorida has a problem, and no one really knows what to do about it. it's headed your way. Alabama's gov broke down had to call everyone out lol. your best option is to just get the shot. at this point it's obvious it doesn't have bad effects, and my mutant power is that it seems to have worked on all the other cold viruses as well. I could understand why people were hesitant and wanted to wait, but I think we've seen enough. I would recomend the shot at this point.
Love your take on the situation. I agree with this 100 percent. If you want the shot, then get it. If you don't, then don't. It's really that simple, but for some reason there are actually people walking this earth that don't believe it is that simple.Get the shot if your worried about covid, folks are ready to get OUT. when we start winning the stands are going to be packed!!!! Most folks are ready to get OUT!!!!!! GBO!!!!!
LWS, can you explain the reason for the seemingly glacier pace at which our players are getting vaccinated? Does it just boil down to convincing more players not to be fearful of the vaccine? Are there some that had the first shot and just have to wait the allotted amount of time before they can get the second one? I'm genuinely surprised this is dragging out as long as it is. I think Alabama is 100%, along with Ole Miss. I'm not sure if any other SEC teams are at the 100% threshold.
Meh the 85% is only for indoor masks anyway.I'm not sure that we are even over the 85% threshold that relieves the team from having to follow other protocols.
Nothing like a little histeria to liven up a Thursday morning..Delta is a completely different animal, WAY more contagious. You're experience last fall is now irrelevant. If you are unvaccinated and attend these games, be prepared to get it.

There's nothing to worry about. Carry on with your life. I went to several Nascar events last fall unvaccinated and didn't take mask mandates seriously. I never have. There were no spikes from any of those events. Masks and plexiglass are ridiculous and won't save people from their own carelessness. Wash your hands often and quit touching your face, you'll be just fine. I plan on attending the game but did get talked by family into getting the vaccine this spring because no-one we knew of suffered any ill effects.
I certainly will not believe any government agency or official.I just feel bad for the hospitals and those who work in the medical field in general. This is really putting a strain on all parties involved. According to WHO and the CDC, 97% of new COVID hospitalizations are un-vaxed patients. 99% of those who have suffered COVID related deaths were un-vaxed. I mean, do what you want. Believe what you want. But to me those percentages are staggering and it has truly become a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Yes, we will have to get boosters and it will probably have to become a yearly thing like the flu shot. But I'd rather take my chances with the vaccine than trust my own immune system or that "Jay-zus" is going to protect me.
Im one of those healthcare workers and dont really care what people do as far as vaccinated or not. Man their choice. I would rather us not put heart valves in recurrent IV drug abusers with no health insurance. I don’t care if you wanna so drugs but you may not get your second valve surgery.I just feel bad for the hospitals and those who work in the medical field in general.
