Per Jake Nichols HB was running 1st team in team period with Small to start and Milton 2nd team. So guess not too bad…. People need to realize staff going to rotate around to start and give each guy a shot then narrow down

if you're drawing any conclusions from the first couple of practices you might be surprised

when a week before the first game things look and sound completely different than early camp observations

just sayin'

Cooked the Boomers over night in 3 games I see!

4-3 W on the pitch for a bronze medal and beat em by 19 on the basketball court (Men's) and 24 (Women's). Seems the men are in the swing of things now. Rematch with France for the gold. Need to get our revenge.

Possibly. My biggest observation is that the extra year of eligibility for seniors and the transfer portal may have put Heupel in a better spot roster-wise relative to Dooley, Butch and Pruitt. So far, doesn't sounds like we have big holes at too many positions.

DL, TE and LB don't have ideal depth - but there are options at each, for sure.

I'm feeling better about getting to 6-6, with some upside.
I think D-Line is the most important position on the field for us this year besides qb, luckily we have one of the best in the game coaching it. If they start getting consistent pressure and we create some depth there it’s going to make our whole defense look so much better. I’m optimistic

Positivity from the coaching staff is rubbing off I think.

Listening to the Evans interview, less "Trust the process" and more "We gonna shock people this year".

True or not I think that's good. I don't think Pruitt ever fielded a team that thought they were good enough to be a good SEC team.

I think there's a lot to this actually. Cornbread's first impression of the team (rightly or otherwise) was to question the size. I think his criticism of the team as a whole (coaches and players alike) is what lead to the toxicity we're heard so much about. Glad that's gone.

Don't love the mention of only 1 deep ball being completed in 1on1s and that one much because of the WR. But also sounds like a bunch of walkons or new guys are being thrown to. I'd imagine if they were consistently to our studs it may not be as much of a problem. Sounds like Milton overthrowing some on deeps, at least today. HB with a pick, but completed the 1 deep to Velus who apparently made a spectacular catch.

PSA: I wouldn’t put much stock in reports of players showing out in camp. Media talks certain guys up every year and they do nothing during the season.

That's a fair point on individual players. Plus, 1 or 2 of these guys likely will suffer an injury (or arrest!) during fall camp, if history is any guide.

With that said, it's good when there are a lot of players being hyped up - increases the odds some of them will actually pan out!

Might be from the source of the report. Jnichols paints a different picture.

Man this is a legit comp. I don't know who's going to be the guy
Players seem to believe it doesn't matter. They think all the QBs are capable of being great in this offense. There's gonna be injuries (hopefully minor or none) and it seems like any of the QBs can jump in and keep on humming along. That'll be a nice change!
