Fauci and others have direct benefits from personal investments. Indirectly, those companies fund speeches, projects, grants, et al that either directly or indirectly benefit Fauci and those like him in national agencies.Dr. Fauci does not one cent from Covid vaccine sales. The only people who make money from vaccine sales are the companies who manufacture the vaccines unless you receive the vaccine from a private physician who can charge for an office visit. Health Departments and most Drug stores will administer the vaccine at no charge.
To me DeSantis is Trump... with morals, class, and self-control.A big reason is because the Governor of Florida is very likely your next Biden (Harris) opponent, depending on what Trump does. So Desantis is already taking slings and arrows from the usual corners.
Agree on TN, great state, beautiful, great place to live.
How many times did you get tested?I mean… I have been all over the world since I got Covid and got my vaccine and have not contracted it again yet.
Was in a country for a month with only a 1% vaccine rate and also had the Delta Variant in that country and I did not contract COVID. So I would say being vaccinated has contributed to that.
Populations are close to half and half, to make an argument as though they are not is disingenuous. Granted, I'm not the best at statistics but if populations are equal, 60% of new cases are unvaccinated people, does that mean 40% of new cases are what...vaccinated? What other category opposite of unvaccinated is there?
WTF are you taking about? It's like when you talk about US healthcare and all of a sudden people knows someone who come to the US from Canada for healthcare, and can vouch for the fact that the Canadian healthcare system sucks.
You live in Memphis, Daryl. You've never met or even spoken with anyone from Canada. I have lived a majority of my life 45 minutes from the Canadian border, and hell, I've never even met anyone from Canada.
Vanderbilt baseballNot true. Lost a starting o-lineman for a game. Lost some backups a couple of other times. Had various coaches out for Kentucky, Auburn (including Saban), LSU, and Arkansas.
Butch Jones had to fill in as RB coach for 2 games, so I challenge you to show me another program that was as negatively affected.
Dr. Fauci is forbidden from investing in companies with who have a working relationship the NIH. It is a matter of ethics something of which Dr. Fauci has an abundance. I had a working relationship with Dr. Fauci fro almost 30 years and your attack on him is baseless and untrue.Fauci and others have direct benefits from personal investments. Indirectly, those companies fund speeches, projects, grants, et al that either directly or indirectly benefit Fauci and those like him in national agencies.
His behavior concerning masks adds to his unreliability as a trustworthy source. He went from mocking the idea that masks were any part of the solution (which was when he was actually "following the science") to suggesting double masking and having an angry exchange with Senator Paul (also a physician) because he was challenged for proof. The science didn't change. The post-restriction studies and data say that masks were essentially useless. Masks neither prevent nor mitigated local outbreaks. Late studies (which actually agree with pre-Covid studies that disappeared from the internet when the push for masks was on) show that the masks being commonly worn offered no protection from getting or spreading the virus. Studies of populations show that the virus had basically the same impact on similar communities where mask use was prevalent in one and not so in the other.
This is now stuff that the "medical community" knows or has access to know. Where are the "leaders" acknowledging and correcting their errors.
Fauci on a few occasions has essentially acknowledged that they did not "inform" the public fully because they believed people would act in ways contrary to what they wanted them to act. That's manipulation and control. That is NOT what we should expect from our "leaders".
Well yeah DeSantis is their new villain, it's just funny they're still acting like Florida is just some virus paradise when almost every other state is the same now.A big reason is because the Governor of Florida is very likely your next Biden (Harris) opponent, depending on what Trump does. So Desantis is already taking slings and arrows from the usual corners.

To get natural immunity you have to catch it. And maybe get sick as a dog and end up in the hospital. I agree that it’s the most effective.Did you mean to say it has not been very effective?
I get a weekly report from our county health department. We recently had a "spike" in cases. So far all of the people who were hospitalized were not vaccinated. About 10% in my anecdote had been vaccinated. Other counties near me though report about 50%.
Here's the kicker. ZERO people who previously had the virus have been reinfected in my county. Naturally acquired immunity appears to be more effective than any of the vaccines.... of course those with friends in high places like Fauci et al cannot make money from natural immunity... only vaccines.
A small fraction end up in the hospital. Many don't get very sick or for very long. According to a British study from earlier in the year, about 80% of those who get Covid are either asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms. You would anticipate most of those people having immunity as well.To get natural immunity you have to catch it. And maybe get sick as a dog and end up in the hospital.
